"I'd give 20 stars if I could. Every time I have had to call Droegkamp Furnace, I have had above and beyond excellent service. They have always managed to get here fast, diagnosed fast and accurately, always the best estimates and most professional people I have ever worked with. I had some financial issues and spoke directly with the owner. Extremely honest and no pushy, unnecessary sales!"

"We had this system installed by Kettle Moraine in May 2018. This was our first annual inspection of the furnace, as we had the air conditioning checked out this May. Kyle called ahead of his scheduled arrival to confirm he would be on time. He arrived on time, put his booties on to protect our floors, and got right to work. He did a real nice job of checking everything out, and discovered a water leak that was allowing a small amount of moisture/liquid to get on top of the heat exchanger, in three different places, which would over time create significant problems both with the upper and lower heat exchangers. He exlained very clearly, even showing me what was wrong , and what he suspected was causing the leak. He immediately contacted Lennox, and ordered the replacement parts, from our basement. He estimated the parts would be in the shop and ready for installation in about a week. While I'm not thrilled with the quality of the Lennox furnace, leaking and need major parts being replaced within a couple of years, their 10 year parts and labor warranty will cover everything, so that's great."

"Shane was able to schedule a prompt appointment. He arrived on time and performed a thorough diagnostic on the furnace. He identified an issue I was unaware of and corrected the problem with the air conditioner using parts that were still under warranty. I will gladly use his services again."

"It turned out fine.  He had a couple of recommendations to get it cleaned to run efficiently.  The cost was pretty inexpensive.  It's a combination, the furnace and the air conditioner.  This is a condo.  It is all one unit.  Overall he was just here to look at it.  Their response was good.  They were here on time."

"

Had a pricing problem with discrepancy about whether air returns were included or limited to only 1 return per system in the $199 Big Deal purchase.

The Big Deal voucher did not mention anything about a limit of one air return for each system cleaning. The technician after arrival gave the one air return limit per system with $32 extra charge for each air return thereafter.

A call to a manager was made to verify pricing. Acoording the manager a disrepancy existed between the Big Deal voucher lanaguage and actual corporate practice. We reached a compromise in which all air returns were included in the first system but the 1 air return limit applied to the second system added to the job. This resulted in an extra payment of $160 over the $199 per system Big Deal quoted charge.

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Hartford, WI

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
