"Great! Got Infinity "urgent alert" emails saying "blower motor fault" though the furnace was heating and blowing. Coolray scheduled an appointment the next day despite being very busy. Darren arrived early, worked hard, discovered a loose wire, and fixed it. Thanks so much! And thank you to Coolray for the lifetime warranty on my HVAC system, which saves me tons of $$$!!!"

"Reliable, honest service, and fair prices. They just did a two-system replacement for us and it went extremely well. I've been working with Robby and his team for over 10 years on behalf of third-party clients and he is one of the most trustworthy contractors I've known. When I moved to the Atlanta area two years ago it was a no-brainer to hire R Wiley for my home's yearly HVAC maintenance package and I'm glad I did. We've had Miguel, one of R Wiley's outstanding technicians out for service and maintenance and I've been happy with his work and helping to diagnose issues. When it came time to replace our very old AC & Furnace units, there was no sales pressure - just consultative solutions. R Wiley's pricing was in line with some of the more affordable bids and they don't try to push you into super high-priced marked-up units or things that should be included with installation, or all those "financing" programs where you end up paying way more for your project. Installation with Marvin was awesome - they were done with two units in one day and what a difference it's made. Overall an awesome experience from day one, with a successful multiple unit replacement. I'm glad I have them to continue to keep the units serviced on an annual basis as well. Highly recommend!"

"I had trouble with the AC about a month after they did an annual service and replaced the capacitor. The system locked up and they came out and I watched as they pulled an obviously old, worn, and burnt, electrical part out next. They replaced that part for the cost of the part and waived the labor as it was so close to the last service. The system is old and they were finding parts that were reaching the end of their life and replacing rather than trying to sell me a whole new system but let me know they would be there if I decided I needed a new system. Fast service, pleasant and knowledgeable personnel."

"Update from 20 Jan 2026: I`ve been a repeat customer of Keep Smiling Plumber, Electrical, Heating and Cooling in the past for several home-related repairs. After having an unfortunate experience with Keep Smiling PEHC during my most recent service, I had some misgivings about the company and whether I would return as a customer. In regards to their customer service, everyone that I`ve engaged with (technicians, onsite supervisor, receptionist) has always been professional and courteous which goes a long way with me. The issue that I had was technical in nature and left me with some dissatisfaction regarding the quality of work. After speaking with leadership of this organization Mr. Powell and Ms. Amy ,I believe that they hold the highest standards and expectations for their employees and ensure that any work-related issues are duly addressed/resolved. I can sincerely say that they have regained my confidence and trust in contacting them in the future for my future HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing home needs. The manager I spoke with told me that there wasn`t any way the damage of the pump could come from the technician doing a drain and flush of the water heater. He told me that it would cost $1200 to replace the pump on the water heater. After speaking with the manager at Keep Smiling, I called another company which I`ve seen before in the community and spoke with a plumber and explained to him what happened. The technician at the other company told me that the pump could definitely be damaged if the pump was still plugged up and not turned off while the water heater was being drained and flush. I called the manager at Keep Smiling and shared those details with him and he replied that he understands what I`m saying but there was nothing he could do about it. I told him that I don`t have any reason to lie about any of this and felt very frustrated and cheated by the fact that I went in expecting for them to do a maintenance check for $59 for plumbing but ended up spending a $1000 for new. "Andrew met with me and spoke to me about my options for a furnace and AC. He really listened to me and helped me find the right systems without trying to upsell me . My install team; Willy, Cue, Alejandro and Tyler were great. They were on time courteous, friendly and very thorough. Everything looked clean when they were finished. They did a great job explaining their work to me and showing me how to use the systems."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Clarkston, GA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
