"I vetted 5 Hvac companies before I found JP heating . JP Heating AC, & Plumbing did a great job, John the owner came to my residence and gave me a fare proposal and price to replace 2 Heil heat pump systems and replace of about 12' of damaged duct work. He gave me a start date and time and was right on time as promised. John promised that he could do the Job within 2 days. He sent a team of 4 guys who worked non-stop all day long (Minus about a 30 min lunch break) and they were great. The job John promised that would be done within 2 days was completed in 1 day. They left my house clean and cool. The very next day I called John back because I tested the heating system and one level of the house had very little heat. John sent Skip out immediately and the problem was a simple thermostat setting. I was very happy with how fast the tech responded and fixed the issue. I highly recommend JP Heating they are great. I will be using JP heating for all of my Hvac needs"

"Lokuta Plumbing also replaced both Natural Gas Furnaces. All workers were timely, efficient, professional, and willing to answer any question or explain what any part did. Everything was cleaned at the end of each day. I had them return to perform preventive maintenance on my Rinnai Water Heater. The bid for this job was fair as well. I highly recommend this company for any of your plumbing needs."

"This was my first time hiring anyone from Angi so I was a bit apprehensive, but it worked out wonderfully. Robert contacted me almost immediately after I left a message. He was able to fit my job in about 2 days later which was great (it wasn’t an emergency). I didn’t meet him personally but my tenants said he was polite and cleaned up after himself. He’s very easy to communicate with (calls, texts), shows up on time and gets the job done. I would definitely use Brooks Heating & Air Conditioning again."

"The appointment was made within 2 days of contacting them. The technician (Brian) was punctual for a 7:30 am appointment. Once there, Brian did a fantastic job of communicating the services that he was performing and kept me very informed about the status of the AC system. He found some issues that had been previously overlooked by former HVAC technicians and provided me with a very detailed understanding of what the outlook for my unit should be in the future. I noticed an immediate improvement in the cooling of the house as well as the air quality. I can't thank this company and this technician enough for being so professional in the way they conduct their business. I would recommend them to anyone in need of HVAC service."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Lake Harmony, PA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
