"Speer Air just completed a complete overhaul of my existing HVAC including an upgrade of part of our system. The entire experience from initial sales visit to completion was great. Throughout the installation, the team was friendly, always available to answer a question, clean and respectful of my 3 young children (making sure nothing was left behind or any debris that could hurt them). System is operational and very satisfied. Highly recommend them."

"James Stone was really good. We had a little confusion about the rebate for the original furnace they were going to install but we came to an agreement and I received half of the rebate due to me not being qualified for the full rebate. I was more than satisfied and they were very accommodating. Everything is working great. He went out of his way to make me satisfied. Thank you for giving me this company's information."

"It went well. Not sure how many years it's been but Dave continues to solve the many riddles around our boiler (house circa 1930). This time was not so bad but I simply don't call anyone else PERIOD. Waste of time when you can work with a savant. Just as an FYI - he's pretty much done my entire basement from PEX to a water filtration system."

"Excellent HVAC and Solar installation services! They did a great job installing a new HVAC system for us a few years ago, so we sought their services again for Solar installation. They were very professional both times: provided pricing right away, technicians were polite, and job was completed in a thorough yet efficient manner. Jobs well done!"

"I urge everyone to take a look at their HVAC/furnace/boiler/ etc. and if you are staring at it, the way I was, screaming WHAT THE HECK, call Kyle. If you are Youtube how to splice wires to install that smart thermostat, stop it, call Kyle. Seriously, just call Kyle. You hear the horror stories, I called for what I thought was $X and the HVAC tech came and now I have a $200X invoice. That is not the case with Kyle. I have been there, do-it-yourself projects exist, but your heating and cooling is not one of them. Do not believe me, call around; then call Kyle, then call Kyle back because you realize he is available, upfront, and transparent. That is what I did. Kyle helped me demystify my heating and cooling system. Now I stare at my HVAC system, knowing what is what, and how I can quickly troubleshoot it and maintain it. What surprised me the most, this is not what Kyle was required to do. He came to help us with something unrelated. Nevertheless, he stayed late, and answered all the questions my wife and I had; we had a lot. It felt like we had a friend over the entire time. Sure enough, that's how it felt when he left. In conclusion, thank you Kyle for being genuinely you; kind, courteous, and professional. Whether you need a repair or want to prevent one down the road, get with Kyle and learn the ins and outs of how to optimize your home's heating and cooling. Schools in session. Thanks again! P.S. He is great with dogs!"

"Called for a furnace tune up before turning heat on for the season. Fair flat price and quickly available. Felix was efficient and knowledgeable and gave me advice for ongoing maintenance. Another company was charging by the hour and said it would be at least an hour, hour and a half which does not line up with my past experiences having a tune up done."

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
