"They were fantastic and a great value. They were straight shooters, did not give me more than I need in terms of cost or fanciness. They took time (efficiently) to inspect onsite what needed to be done, and finished faster than intended. They even vacuumed up after themselves-above & beyond. I waited a week to see the effects before posting, to be more useful. The improvement in my house's heating and cooling was instant. They came after a long cold streak in Tallahassee (January) and were coming to do two jobs: (1) updating insulation for my 30-year old house with a metal roof and existing insulation and (2) partially-finished garage/office. Now our attic closets & office are more moderate in temperature & do not leak as much hot/cold air. This helps energy efficiency and makes the space more usable. They gave good guidance on that front, too for any future renovations. Went from a 30+ degree differential between the house/closets to a ~5 degree. We use them & my office much more!"

"They did a good job and were on time. It did take longer than they said. They spilled some insulation on driveway but offered a credit or a prof pressure sprayer to remove."

"Exceptional organization of high integrity. While committing all assets to the Hurricane Michael reconstruction effort NWFL Insulation was unwilling to compromise quality and effort to current customer base. The owner (Alex) personally followed up with us on site to ensure our project was completed properly. When the team was committed elsewhere Alex performed the work himself. Superior organization who care about the customers and the quality of work."

"Weatherguard did a beautiful job on my roof! My home is an A-frame so the roof is VERY important to the overall look of the house. When my last "lifetime" aluminum roof (designed to look like cedar shakes) was damaged in the April 2011 storms, I wanted to replace it with a more durable material. I did some research and found Gerard's stone-coated steel roofing materials which are Class 4 rated but have the look of cedar shakes. I had just had a very, very bad experience with a previous roofer who took my $12,000 deposit and never performed the job, so I was EXTREMELY cautious about selecting another roofing company. I got a good reference from someone I trusted and Weatherguard did not disappoint. Weatherguard's crew (led by Hector) did great job. My neighbors even commented on what a hard-working crew we had working on the house. Based on quotes given by other roofing companies, I was very pleased with the price. The overall look of the roof is even better than I expected.
."
I was also EXTREMELY pleased with the roofing product I chose, the Gerard stone-coated steel shake (website: www.gerardusa.com). My insurance company (State Farm) actually offers a premium discount based on the selection of this roofing material (they have a list of Class 4 roofing material manufacturers whose products qualify for the discount). The rep for my region was awesome --- can't say enough good things about Aaron Leland. I had relayed to him what had happened with the first roofer I had hired and he made it his person mission to make sure I had a good experience with the Gerard roof. He worked closely with Weatherguard to make sure I was well pleased with the final outcome (both in terms of cost and performance).

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

Local and federal rebates are available for insulation installation, which can significantly reduce your overall costs. Many utility companies offer incentives or rebates to homeowners who improve their home's energy efficiency. Contact your local energy provider or government agencies to learn about available programs in your area, and consult with a professional insulation installer to maximize your savings.
It's not necessary to remove old insulation before adding new insulation, as long as the existing insulation is in good condition—dry, free of mold, and not damaged. Adding new insulation on top of old insulation can improve your home's energy efficiency by increasing the overall R-value. However, if the old insulation is wet, moldy, or damaged, it's best to remove it before installing new insulation to prevent potential health risks and ensure optimal performance.
Insulating a house takes between five and twelve hours for batts or boards, and two to five hours for spray foam or blown-in insulation. The exact time depends on the size of your home, the type of insulation, and the accessibility of the areas being insulated. Keep in mind that projects may take longer if old insulation needs removal, if there's a larger square footage, or if spaces are difficult to reach.
