"I had an emergency and JR Insulation Drywall did an amazing job. I had just sold my house, and in the process of moving, the movers broke a pipe that had to be repaired behind a wall on the day we gave possession to the new owners. I called JR Insulation Drywall and they were there the same day I called and did a wonderful job of the repair. Responsive, quality, and for a great price. Would definitely hire again if I needed help. I so appreciated their help in a stressful time for me."

"We re-sided our 1929 house recently, and during the tear-off phase it was the perfect time to have blown-in insulation performed to insulate our exterior walls. Ryan and his crew worked quickly and we are so much more comfortable with our walls finally insulated. We had a minor repair needed as a result of the drilling, and the company worked quickly to resolve it to our satisfaction. I will happily recommend them to others, and feel like this project pays for itself quickly in terms of energy efficiency and comfort."

"The Oregon Energy Trust guy was here at the same time, and said the crews had to do substantial work in the attic to repair fan ducts. From all the sawing and hammering I heard, it sounds like quite a bit got fixed up there. It was nice that the Energy Trust guy knew insulation jobs so well and provided reassurances that everything he saw was being done correctly. I'm not going to crawl under the house to see the new vapor barrier and new pipe insulation, have to count on their reputation and good word for that part of the job."

"I got a rebate from the state for having this service done. Their were two men that came out and they were able to get it done within two days. They put insulation in under our home and in the attic. I did notice a difference in our home after this. They were very professional and you could not even tell they were there."

"I bought the $99 furnace service in October for a furnace that was going in and out and also needed cleaned, as well as to see if there were any parts that would help it work better. The igniter was replaced, although I thought the price a little high at $275, not including the servicing purchase. The furnace worked fine until January when it quit completely (as we had kind of anticipated although the furnace was not ancient, it was 12 or so, and no fault of Sun Glow, a different part froze up). I got an estimate from a couple of companies and ended up picking another for the new furnace, primarily due the the other installer measuring the rooms in the house and checking the insulation properties of the windows rather than basing it on a square footage estimate alone. From what I have read, our old furnace was too big for the house and that may have contributed to it's earlier than expected demise. The new one is much lower in BTUs, and both companies provided estimates with a smaller furnace than we had previously, but Sun Glow picked a larger one that than was eventually installed. Pricing appeared similar, but hard to tell with different brands and sizes of furnaces, filters, etc. in the estimates. The estimater was professional, prompt, and came at very short notice. So although, I didn't chose this company, I had no problems with their service work and would call them again for another estimate.

"Elisey showed up to my house and was very friendly, after his inspection, he warned me about the leaks in my siding, he explained to me why it was happening and how to fix it. They got the work done and now it looks new again and I know I’m protected. Elisey and his company know what they’re doing and I was in good hands."

"Well we had trouble scheduling at first. He was willing to work one day but I work nights and needed to sleep without hammering. I called him to say I had all the supplies ready and when I woke up a few days later I found he had called me mid day (10:30) to say his guys were coming over. Problem was I didn't have the supplies where they could get them as I didn't know he would be coming like that. I also thought HE would be doing the repairs but he had employees. The first employee he had working on the roof repaired it differently than we had discussed (he said he approved it as it would save materials and labor) and that placing two shorter boards on each end of the roof wouldn't effect the strength of the roof at all. I doubted this but am not a contractor. The employee he had start on the roof couldn't make it the next day (he was later fired for substandard work per another employee-Jason) so another carpenter came out (Aaron.)  Mark (the owner) had told me what I needed for repairing the facade on my outbuilding as well--in case they finished early on the roof. Aaron and Mark's project manager (Jason) tore off the facade and found all the supports were destroyed by carpenter ants, A simple fix turned into a major overhaul. Aaron was wonderful and they both worked hard. Mark had told me that it would be $3200-3600 to make the wall back to the way it was, plus the cost of parts. When the work was completed their definition of back to the way it was wasn't the same as mine. They never planned on replacing the dry wall or insulation. They were able to contact a drywall installer who was able to get the job done within a few days and they came and replaced the trim a few wks later.  Mark bought and placed the installation that night before so it would be ready for the drywall installation.
Mark and his wife were concerned that I was satisfied with the work & repeated several times that they would do what was needed to make it right.
My issues were:
1) the additional expense of drywall ($700)
2) The freezer I had out there had been stuffed full (had bought a new refrigerator & overstuffed the outside freezer during installation.) My neighbor and I had checked the first night to see if the freezer still had power (it did.) Evidently it was turned off sometime later and all the food (at least $400) was ruined. Mark didn't charge me for the trim or insulation to offset this.
3) After the trim was installed Jason left the plastic sheeting, paper floor lining and other products of construction as it was. It took me almost five hours to clean the mess up. I didn't call Mark about this as I was too angry at the time. He probably would have taken care of it himself.
4) I am caucasian. My teenage son's best friend is American but looks Hispanic. I've known him as a diligent student and caring person for six years and consider him my second son. Jason was looking at me and telling me the progress of the work as I was looking at the building. My son's friend came up and tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to look to see who it was & said hello. Jason laughed and said "Oh you know him? I thought he was going to jump you!" I asked him why he would say such a stupid thing--that this young man was like a son to me? I later told Mark and he said he had fired Jason & appreciated the feedback.

FAQs for insulation service projects in Government Camp, OR

Local and federal rebates are available for insulation installation, which can significantly reduce your overall costs. Many utility companies offer incentives or rebates to homeowners who improve their home's energy efficiency. Contact your local energy provider or government agencies to learn about available programs in your area, and consult with a professional insulation installer to maximize your savings.

It's not necessary to remove old insulation before adding new insulation, as long as the existing insulation is in good condition—dry, free of mold, and not damaged. Adding new insulation on top of old insulation can improve your home's energy efficiency by increasing the overall R-value. However, if the old insulation is wet, moldy, or damaged, it's best to remove it before installing new insulation to prevent potential health risks and ensure optimal performance.

Insulating a house takes between five and twelve hours for batts or boards, and two to five hours for spray foam or blown-in insulation. The exact time depends on the size of your home, the type of insulation, and the accessibility of the areas being insulated. Keep in mind that projects may take longer if old insulation needs removal, if there's a larger square footage, or if spaces are difficult to reach.
