"ASAP has been very quick to respond, and have generally been available to perform inspections on very short notice. When I called them a few years ago to set up a mold inspection to take place at the same time as a buyer's home inspection, they recommended waiting until after the home inspector's evaluation, to see if there was any reason to conduct a follow-up mold test. The home inspector did not see any evidence of possible mold at the house, so we did not schedule a mold test. This showed me that---by turning down a request for a mold inspection with ASAP until the home inspector's evaluation---they have the integrity to walk away from an appointment request from a ready, willing, and able customer until there is reasonable evidence there could be mold at a property. This took money out of ASAP's pockets, and kept that money in the pockets of my buyers. I have hired ASAP many times before and since this episode. "We had 7 different firms stop by to take a look and give us an estimate. MKJ construction was the last firm we scheduled to come by, and thank god we did. We ended up hiring them, because everything fell into place: they had the lowest cost estimate, the most and best reviews on Angie's list, and they had already done work on a colleague's condo, so we knew we could trust them. We also liked that while others quoted us a higher price for just scraping, MKJ replaced the window and door casings, as well as windows (which we wanted, so that dust doesn't get generated through the process).

John stopped by first to give an initial estimate, and a couple days later his colleague Darren stopped by to take measurements for windows, and be able to give us an exact quote, so they were the only ones who stopped by twice. Throughout the whole time, John was very reachable, both by email and phone (call or text), and I have never had any issues getting in touch. They were able to fit us in their schedule very soon after the estimate, just about 3 weeks later, as we needed to order a special window for the bathroom which no one carries in stock and takes longer to arrive. They said it would take 5-7 business days for us to be able to move back in, which included their work, as well as the final inspection and waiting for the report, and indeed, we didn't need to wait any longer, even though we asked them not to work on one of the days as a favor to our neighbors. They did a great job, exactly what they promised, and everything looked great, we got new wood window and door frames, a couple replacement windows, and everything looked professionally done. We found the condo as clean as we had left it.

Overall, we were very happy with the whole process. Learning that we needed to delead and not knowing how much it could cost, was a scary and stressful first stage, but after finding MKJ and hiring them, our worries went away and we knew we would be in good hands. We were happy to know that our place would finally be ready for the baby we are expecting. We would definitely go to them again if we needed any deleading in a future place, or recommend them to any of our friends that need to delead.
