"Young Environmental is an experienced, knowledgeable company that specializes in asbestos mitigation. We found them through Angie's List to address a problem we needed completed in order for other work to be done (the installation of a French drain for a sump pump). It was when we were getting an estimate for that work that we were told the tiles needed to be removed first because of the asbestos used in the tiles of that age (1960s). We received a quick response from Young Env. They told us that while both the tiles and mastic contained asbestos the amount was minimal and likely not a health hazard. I probably could have removed the tiles myself, but removing the mastic was a whole different issue. Young does an excellent job of sealing the area to prevent any exposure and guarantees their work. The post-mitigation testing is done by a different company (Geller Labs in our case), so there is that additional assurance. No remaining asbestos was found and the other work was able to proceed. Total work was approx. 213 linear feet of tile and mastic, just where the sump pump trench would be excavated. We plan on having them back to do the rest of the area (with a quote that obviously provides credit for work done)."

The mold technician was in and out in 20 minutes. He took an air sample and one swab, that s it. For the price of $299. Once you get the results of your mold test, they refer you to a company that is in the business of selling mold remediation products. Originally as much as $1600 for mold bombs, sprays and commercial graded air scrubber. I negotiated down to $1195. Then settled on only what I needed. Know what you want, do your homework before buying products you do not need."
