"We contracted with Element Drywall & Painting to prep for and install a soundproof wall that upon completion would divide an existing bedroom into two new in-home offices. The quality of the work exceeded our expectations. Gustavos Banales and his team went beyond contract specifications to make sure we were fully satisfied with the work. Very competent, conscientious, and trustworthy. Highly, highly recommended. Before the work began all furniture was covered with sliders, masking tape, plastic runners, and laundered drop cloths. Thick paper runways were rolled out from our front door to the work areas. Additionally, a filtration negative air machine utilizing a HEPA-activated carbon filter kept the dust in the apartment down and the air clean. Prep work done, the team framed the 10 ft wide by nine foot high divisional wall using a metal frame and studs. The team installed a resilient channel to reduce any sound intrusion to the other side of the wall and reinforced that with soundproof batting. Intstallation of expertly cut and mudded drywall was next, and a precise channel was cut around the doorways to further reduce any sound intrusion. We choose where we wanted several electrical outlets to be located in the wall, each of which was then sealed with acoustical putty pads. A TV bracket was attached on the wall. On top of that, designed-from-scratch matching wainscotting and baseboards were added. Finally, an expert coat of primer and paint was applied. The project attained a level-five finish. The team also primed and painted a separate wall that needed attention in the apartment. And at no extra charge the team fixed work by another contractor that was substandard. "I had previously had a handiman attempt to install this celing fan with remote control and he was unable to do so despite calling the Home Depot help line who told him the universal remote was incompatable with this celing fan. When I returned to Home Depot they said it could be done and contacted their preferred electrition to do the job. I attempted to reach him several times and had poor results. Since I had used Sam Reid Urban Construction for a plumbing job in the past and was happy with the results I gave him a try. Sam did a great job. He had no problems getting the celing fan to work. He did not need to contact any help line he just has very good problem solving skills! I will definately use Urban Construction in the future, my experiences with Sam have been very positive."

"I bought a special deal for $250 for 8 hours of outdoor painting. The deal was for mostly the labor as I also had to buy the paint. I bought a gallon of outdoor paint for $44 before the project was to begin. The painter was to be at my house by 9am to begin the work. He was timely, looked around, and set up pretty much right away. Around 11:15 he then told me that the gallon of paint would not work because it would drip and he felt that it would not look good. I had to send my husband out for spray paint at that point. I was able to have the front shutters completed after that. The shutters were taken down, painted, and put back up. The positives: my appointment was made quickly, the owner was very polite while dealing with him to set up appt and while he was here, shutters were taken down and put back up, the paint does look good on the shutters The negatives: I wasted money on a gallon of paint that cannot be used, I wish that there was a way for the painter to come and tell you the information before so you are not wasting money, the painter was there for 2 hours before letting me know he couldn't use the gallon and when you pay for a certain time limit, that is important, when he left, I walked around to the side of my house and there was black spray paint all over the lawn -"
