"Matt Hartman is a “Magician with a brush” (and a trowel)! He just finished re-plastering and painting three floors of our 120 year old brownstone townhouse. The place looks fabulous and he completed the work on time, on budget and was minimally disruptive. He never made a mess even though he did extensive plaster work. He even came back to do touch-ups when a mover and a carpet layer damaged his work. This isn't the first time we've used Matthew. Several years ago a leaking shower caused significant damage to our parlor floor ceiling including plaster molding. He restored the ceiling and decorative molding completely On top of everything else, he's a really nice guy! I can't recommend him highly enough."

"Danny Vitulli and his crew were excellent! They came into a disaster of a remodel left behind by a prior contractor and made everything right and beautiful. With changes mid stream and difficult city inspectors they got the job done in a timely manor at a reasonable cost. Neat and clean every day. I would recommend them high. Great to work with. Camille"

"I just had two projects completed by Mohammed and New Mark Painting & Construction. I am very pleased with the way he completed my stairs and walkway paver. Mohammed is truly a hard worker and a genuine professional. He keeps you up to date on every aspect of the project and will do whatever necessary to keep you, the customer, happy. I asked him to change a step because I wasn’t liking the way it looked and he changed it without any hesitation. He DOES NOT cut corners. In fact, he went and got new paver stones because a portion of them were chipped and he did not feel comfortable using them for the rest of the project. He is very efficient and really knows his stuff, as he walked me step by step on how every piece of the project was going to be done. Unlike some contractors he was not pushy or demanding of a large deposit upfront, which I appreciated. I will 1000% recommend him to anyone who needs work done."

"I hired Loja Renovations to assembly a number of furniture I bought online that was very difficult to put together. They came and quickly assembled them with ease. They're very skilled and efficient. Apart from the reasonable cost, I was particularly impressed with their professionalism, their show of care for the customer and their respectful attitude. I definitely plan to use them again."

"Wow! Muhhammad was excellent. He was early every day, very respectful, listened to what I wanted exactly. He did a phenomenal job on my stucco paint, installed beautiful stone, added a layer to my fence that was exposed, and painted my doors very nice. He cleaned up the work that he did after the job. I would recommend him and my neighbors are very impressed. I am hiring him again. Thank you Muhhamad for transforming our home."

You’ll need 1 gallon of paint per 350 square feet of coverage. Typical amounts per room size:
Small room (200-400 sq. ft.): 1 gallon.
Medium-sized (400-800 sq. ft.): 2-4 gallons.
Large (800-1,200 sq. ft.): 5-gallons or more.
Painters usually make $20 per hour on average or about $40,000 per year. Independent contractors might pocket a little more. However, they must charge for overhead, such as vehicles, equipment, insurance, marketing and association dues.
Specialty painting, like murals and trompe l’oeil, costs $40 to $50 per hour. Paint might range between $75 to $90. The professional’s skill and experience are also determining factors. While a freelance artist might charge $25 to $30 an hour, a very skilled professional might charge $80 or more. Some might also charge $60 or more for a consultation.
Trompe l'oeil creates a realistic image or optical illusion in three dimensions. Murals are composed on a wall of any size. These two projects vary in price, with a trompe l'oeil typically costing more because of its complexity. Both are considered specialty projects.
