"He bid using Duration paint, used Super paint instead a cheaper paint. If you hire him, I would recommend asking if he is going to paint this and that at the start. He was not going to paint the concrete floor on the entrance to the house, although everything else was painted. After a heavy discussion about it, he agreed to paint the floor, if I bought the paint. Where I was raised, when you are going to paint the exterior of a house, you painted all the exterior, not just the walls He is a nice man, but he did not inform me of the things, he wasn't painting and he is the pro not me."

"Jose was very professional. His pricing was reasonable and he was very meticulous in the job that he did. He painted interior walls that were 14 feet high, accent walls where he matched the paint lines beautifully, and painted the baseboards in several rooms. I am very satisfied and would highly recommend Jose. I will use Lozano again when I have more jobs to do."

"Extremely happy with the job. Bluefox Painting washed the tile roof of our single-family home, pressure washed, repaired and painted the entire exterior walls, including the garage door, the exterior lamps, all the trim and the main door. The crew was here with a supervisor on time and on the day we had scheduled. We had no issues with the job nor the paint colors that were chosen. Top-notch service and quality of the job, we highly recommend them."

"Our ceiling has never looked better! Jason's crew came in and I was pleased with their attention to detail when it came to painting our living room ceiling. Not only were they very meticulous in protecting all of our living room furniture, but the final paint job was perfect! Their service is outstanding and I have never had a better experience with any other paint company. Apollo paint and stain did great work and I highly recommend them!"

"We needed some stucco cracking repairs done as well as painting. when we saw them working on a home in our neighborhood and liked their work. We asked for a quote and found them to be very reasonable. They were punctual and professional and we are very pleased with the results. Great job! By the way some friends also asked for their card for their home."

"It was nice to be able to have my condo painted in half a day. I gave 50% deposit before the job and then paid after reviewing that everything was painted the way I want. They are very professional to cover everything. Price was good and included the Behr paint. I communicated with them mostly over text and email since I was out of the country while trying to coordinate the date of the job."

FAQs for painting projects in Fort Myers, FL

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
