"Mr. Guzman provided a descriptive quote, including photos of our house for an exterior paint job. The price was reasonable, and he was able to complete the job in 2 days. His team paid attention to detail, and they were careful not to get paint on our brick walls. I highly recommend this family-run paint business for you home needs!"

"Mr. Lopez is my go-to person for all painting and wood construction work. I have hired him for 5+ jobs in the past 10 years. For this latest work, he repainted a 4-bedroom 2-bathroom house (walls only), repainted the exterior house including shutters, trim and door, repaired rotted fascia board on the garage, and rebuilt a wood deck and stained it. What I love about Lopez Painting is his consistency: (1) immediate, fair written estimates (2) ability to schedule the job quickly (3) work gets done thoroughly as it seems he concentrates on one job at a time (4) no subs (5) extremely hard working, works more than a full day (6) cleans up."

"Eddy and his crew at Lux Painting and Design are great. Their attention to detail, preping before painting, and the final paint job exceeded our expectations. We would definitely use them again and refer them to our friends. They are a company that does not disappoint if you are looking for a high quality job, professionalism, and follow through."

"Steve Turner sent his crew promptly, relocated 100 plants, power washed and stained the 400 square foot deck and railing; and painted the lawn furniture. The price was reasonable and they did an excellent job,"

"My husband and I are looking to put our house on the market here very soon. I contacted Garza's Services, and the next day they were at our house for a free estimate. Our two-story house needed the interior to be painted, badly. They painted 7 rooms from top to bottom (ceiling and trim). It took the painter's three days, while we are living here. They did a great job! Our house looks like a new house. Too bad we can't enjoy it a little longer. Garza's Services is affordable and very professional. If we ever need someone to paint again, we will be contacting them."

"Within a span of a couple hours of requesting a quote for an exterior paint job, the Morales crew showed up, walked the perimeter and provided a same day quote. They worked around my schedule, always showed up when they said they would (even in extremely cold weather) and always left the yard spotless. Most importantly, the quality of the work was top notch. They didn’t rush through the job - rather, they took their time and did it the right way. They even stained my front door for free. I’d definitely recommend them to friends/family and plan to hire them for some internal painting/drywall work next. Reliable, professional and extremely hard working."

"Diego was so professional, friendly, and completed high quality work in a timely manner. He put wainscoting panels up and painted the walls of our nursery. The end result was beautiful! He also worked with our budget to give us a very good price for his work. I highly recommend him for anyone needing renovations, painting, wainscoting, etc."

FAQs for painting projects in League City, TX

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
