"Tibi is super conscientious, fair priced, and hard working. After dealing with painters for various jobs over the past five years, Tibi is the most honest and professional painter I've come across in the Sarasota area. He is detail oriented, can spray, roll, and cut in, and his crew is experienced and reliable. I strongly recommend Painting by Tibi. I will gladly hire him again."

"David was excellent. He helped me choose the right color to make my house look it’s best. He was very meticulous about everything and was extremely fast. He showed up every day and worked a full day. Not a drop of paint was spilled or sprayed on anything. He took down all light fixtures, cameras and removed unused items before painting. I cannot recommend him highly enough!"

"Gen-1 Painting was recently hired to repaint every inch of our 640sqft mobile home, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish with Paul and his team. This painting team demonstrated incredible attention to detail, ensuring that every wall, ceiling, trim, and even the smallest corners received a flawless series of coats. The prep work was thorough—covering furniture, patching holes, and sanding where needed—which led to a smooth and professional finish. Paul is not only thorough, he is thoughtful! Paul and his team were punctual each day, kept the workspace tidy, and communicated transparently about the schedule and paint recommendations through Sherman Williams. The transformation is remarkable; our mobile home feels refreshed and much brighter thanks to the quality craftsmanship. If you’re looking for a skilled, reliable painter who takes real pride in their craft, we highly recommend Paul for any size project—especially if you want every inch to look its best."

"Innovation Custom Painting recently repainted the exterior of my two story home in Venice, FL I hired them based on the recommendation of a neighbor here in the Watercrest subdivision, as well as the great job I saw they did on his home, and the fair, affordable pricing. I was out of town for a month, so was not able to immediately check on the quality of the final painting, relying on the observations of a neighbor and the trustworthy reputation that Freddy, the owner, has earned in this community. Upon returning and carefully inspecting the house I was very impressed with the excellent painting and the reliable execution. Instead of a light coat of paint sprayed quickly on the stucco, Innovation Custom Painting rolled the paint on, giving a thicker, longer lasting coverage than most other painters who only spray. I am confident that this high quality paint job will last much longer than the thin coat that the builder sprayed on. I highly recommend Innovation Custom Painting!!!"

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
