"Without a hitch. Nester arrived each day as scheduled. Polite, clean well mannered fellow. Very likable. All work performed on schedule. Great paint job. Tight lines, no mess. Staining of the wood doors came out outstanding. Another professional job and again, no mess. Price was very reasonable. Would hire again. Happy about the entire project."

"Bob's crew James, Caesar, and Andress did a wonderful job painting the exterior of our stucco home for a great price for the quality work they do. Caulked around doors, windows, everything that was cracked and exposed to the weather. They use quality material from Sherman Williams, a new product Flex Temp designed around the Arizona desert climate. They took 3 1/2 days for our 1800 sq ft single story home to make sure the job was done right in 105 deg. temperature. They used light and heavy build primer after pressure washing of coarse. Several coats of paint on the walls 1st then several coats over that for the trim. If you want an inexpensive blow and go paint job don't call Painting Green, they don't do them."

Small jobs welcome

"Juan and crew did an excellent job completing an interior paint job and got it done efficiently and in a timely manner. We had received three estimates. One company never got back to me after we had to revise the estimate due to unforeseen circumstances. The other painting contractor did not offer the service of removing "popcorn" texturing. Juan responded with a new estimate right away and was able to remove the popcorn texturing on the living room ceiling, which also had a crack. He repaired the crack, retextured and painted the ceiling as well as a repaint of some interior walls and kitchen cabinets. Reasonably priced too!"

"Everyone was very professional and on top of their game. Tim and his crew painted a living room. That was bright yellow, a bathroom that was bright burnt orange, a den that was bright blue. This job took 3 solid coats they did it a day unheard of. Tim and his crew busted butt so my wife and I could start moving in right away. Our thanks to Colin, Tim,and his crew for their work. I would recommend AZ. Premium Painting for all your painting I know I will."

"Wonderful job by Marinko of Quality Painting. He was quick to return my call & the paint job was excellent! He also repaired a couple of other issues and I cannot recommend him highly enough. I've already shared his info with family members. On top of all of this, he showed up when he said he would & kept us in the loop throughout the work. (Imagine if all the people you hire for house repair/paint jobs did that!) A very big thumbs up ð"

Customers say: True professional

"My husband and I hired Vista SC Painting recently to complete some projects before we have the exterior of our home painted. The work that Vista Paint completed on our house was the following: 5 exterior doors + large front entrance door were refinished (sanded, stained, and sealed—front and back), they did a re-stucco and re-seal of the parapet walls, and they re-coated and sealed the roof. Bryan was very communicative via emails, texts, and phone calls; we value clear communication in general, but it is especially important during home projects where scheduling, logistics, and our specific requests and needs are concerned. Bryan also gave us a more favorable quote out of 3 quotes we got from other contractors, so we were pleased with his fair pricing. We plan to contact Vista SC Painting again fairly soon to schedule an exterior paint for our home and the wall that surrounds our property based on the positive experience we had with them."

FAQs for painting projects in Oro Valley, AZ

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
