"Prompt, professional, knowledgeable and kind. I will be hiring them for my next indoor painting project. They do what they say they are going to do. VERY timely. Marcos gives a time he will arrive and he does. I wish all contractors I hire could be like this company. M&G painted the brick on the exterior of my home. They prepped all the nail holes, gaps etc. in the hardy plank soffits and eves before painting them a separate color. They also sanded and painted my detailed metal hand rails."

"The job and work went well. Project was largely in support of master bathroom remodeling. Lopez Painting removed wall paper, repaired woodwork and dry wall from moving electrical outlets and installing canless lights, painted master bath, closet, toilet room, large custom vanity and cabinets. Also, painted general common areas upstairs and down and repaired drywall as needed. Finally, removed wall paper and painted a upstairs bathroom. Lopez painting show up on time, and work long days. Worked well with my general contractor teams during various phases of my masterbath room remodel."

"We hit a home run with this selection for a painter. The process of getting a bid was simple, Eddie Torres the owner gave us some great guidance on color choices and options we could consider. The crew that actually did the painting was on time, courteous, friendly and responsive to every request. They did a good job of keeping the house clean while they worked and cleaned up after themselves each day and then again at the end. We have every wall, a couple of ceilings, three vanities and some trim touch-up done in a four-story, four bedroom house with about 3,400 square feet and they were done in less than five days, well ahead of the schedule we expected. I could keep going on but suffice it to say they were outstanding and we will use then again when needed. I highly recommend Eddie and his team."

"Steve was extremely polite and easy to work with. Came out quickly to provide estimate, picked a stain color, and in a few days the fence has been power-washed and stained. Beautiful job and really makes the landscaping/greenery pop. The gentleman doing the great work moved all of our planters out of the way and covered vegetation. Will definitely call ProLine for any other painting jobs interior or exterior."

"Excellent job. Had to call them back to clean tiny paint splatters on wood floor. One wall in closet needed a second coat. Paint was even and smooth"

Customers say: Super punctual
"After putting in a request on Angie's list, Steve called within just a few hours. He was very easy to talk to and understood quickly what I needed. He came out to look at the home I had just purchased the next day. The cabinet maker was there at the time, so we agreed on a price for both painting and staining. Steve was wonderful to work with. Easy to get ahold of. The workmen that he supplied were well experienced and were very attentive to detail. They were so quiet I hardly knew they were here. They spent almost 2 weeks here because of the size of the job and all the trim that had to be done. I would recommend Steve to anyone who wants a great job done."

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
