"Eddy and his crew at Lux Painting and Design are great. Their attention to detail, preping before painting, and the final paint job exceeded our expectations. We would definitely use them again and refer them to our friends. They are a company that does not disappoint if you are looking for a high quality job, professionalism, and follow through."

"JJ Molock is Nextdoor Paintingâ s representative who gave our estimate as well as our point of contact during the job. The estimate itself spelled everything out which took any guess work out of the equation. We discussed the differences of paints that Sherwin-Williams offers and we went with a paint that was a little more expensive to get the best bang for our buck in the long run. There were no hidden fees, a 3-year warranty and it is transferable to a buyer when selling the home. They power washed the house, did carpentry work, primed and painted our home. The painters were professional, friendly, answered questions and corrected issues we had during our final walk through. We plan to use them again when we do interior painting."

Customers say: Super punctual
"Steve arrived promptly at the agreed upon time to give us an estimate. He kept in touch with us throughout the entire process via phone calls or text messages. He was thorough and really knows the business (for interior home painting) He uses quality paint, and paints 2 coats. He gave us a written quote. We got bids from a few others and chose to hire Turner Enterprises. A paint crew was quickly scheduled. They showed up on time (actually arrived several minutes early.) Salvador and Jasmine were great. Very professional. They did an outstanding job. They really went the extra mile. The place looks amazing. Would hire again without any hesitation. SO glad I went with professionals. Whoever had painted it before, did a horrible job. Salvador and Jasmine corrected the previous mistakes and sloppy work, and made it look like new."

"Garza's Services recently did some remodeling in our home. Monica addressed any questions I had regarding the estimate appointment, even during a weekend call. Jessie met with me for the estimate, and was able to point out some items that I had not noticed. He listened to what I needed done and was very thorough on how they planned on accomplishing my goals. The price was very reasonable. Jessie and his 1-2 man team showed up on time everyday, got right to work and worked anywhere from 8 to 10 hour days. We had drywall floating, taping, and texturing on all the interior walls, interior painting on all interior walls, and they stained and installed wood baseboards throughout my entire home. Jessie and his team were able to match the new texturing to my existing texturing to the point where I am not able to tell any difference. No other previous contractor was able to accomplish this (I've had this work done twice before). They also took care of some minor details that I had forgotten about without me having to ask them, which was a pleasant surprise! Jessie was onsite everyday from beginning to end, except when needed to to make a run for extra materials. The job was completed days ahead of schedule, and the quality of work is very good. My wife and I will highly recommend them (already have) and they are very trustworthy. You won't be disappointed."

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
