"We solicited bids from three vendors. All viewed the project before bidding. One never sent a bid. Custom Painting gave us a good bid, and the third vendor bid almost double Custom Painting's bid. The project lasted two days. Custom Painting's people arrived on time each day. They did a great job all around. The carefully covered everything. The ceiling repairs were perfect. We are pleased with the paint job. I would, without hesitation, use this firm for future projects."

"We have used Carnival Custom Painting, owner Ron Forest, before, and they have always done an excellent job. This most recent time is the biggest job we have had done, with four rooms painted and drywall and other repair work done. The crew that did our job were excellent. They were friendly, conscientious, meticulous in detail, quick, efficient, did very professional looking work, and left the areas immaculate when they were finished. We highly recommend Carnival Custom Painting."

"Mr. Lopez is my go-to person for all painting and wood construction work. I have hired him for 5+ jobs in the past 10 years. For this latest work, he repainted a 4-bedroom 2-bathroom house (walls only), repainted the exterior house including shutters, trim and door, repaired rotted fascia board on the garage, and rebuilt a wood deck and stained it. What I love about Lopez Painting is his consistency: (1) immediate, fair written estimates (2) ability to schedule the job quickly (3) work gets done thoroughly as it seems he concentrates on one job at a time (4) no subs (5) extremely hard working, works more than a full day (6) cleans up."

"We found Luxz, highly rated, on Angi’s list. The team visited multiple times to ensure their bids were accurate and met the goals of our project needs (stucco repair and exterior house painting). Throughout the project Eddie, Angel, and team were super responsive and open to feedback. They were eager to ensure the work met our expectations. They are straightforward and tell you exactly what they would do if it if it was them in their personal situation, which is so appreciated in this field very often it is difficult to have the level of knowledge and expertise for the situation. You are made to feel like a valued client throughout the process and treated like a real individual regardless of the size of the project. They are definitely a company that we would go back to again and again because they can handle many different situations and jobs."

"I am very happy that I found this company online. I can't say enought about how greatful I am to hire them. Perera Painting And Remodeling did above my expectations, they went above and beyond, they use top of the line paint, I initially wanted them to patch some rotten parts and the bottom of my walls, but they instead came up with the idea of using a 8 inch hardy plank board which will never rot because is a concrete plank. Very professional, I will recommend them hands down. I will be hiring them again at the end of the year for interior painting."

"Best painters I’ve ever used, they are fast and high quality finishes."

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
