"This year I used ABC Humane Wildlife Control & Landmark Pest Mgt to have some birds humanely removed from my house. "I called Animal Trackers on the evening of 12-11-12 upon hearing loud thumping on my roof. I was worried that I had a raccoon or squirrel in my attic. On several occasions had also heard scratching noises in the attic area above my bedroom.  Brandon picked up my phone call right away ... didn't have to leave a message on an answering machine.  Brandon came out the very next day to inspect my home and spent quite a bit of time looking around and answering all of my questions.  I did not feel rushed at all. He inspected several areas of my home for animal entry points and quickly determined that I did not have a large animal in my attic, just mice.
 
Brandon inspected my garage interior, exterior foundation areas and siding, roof, soffits, chimney, and attic.  Once he climbed into the attic he could see the trails/tracks and tunneling holes that the mice had left througout the insulation in the attic.  No sign of large animals.  Hard to determine how the mice are getting in because they are so small and have their ways of getting in the tiniest of spaces. Brandon did point out some areas where the bottom pieces of cedar siding meet the foundation of the house that had gaps. He recommended filling the gaps and caulking. These might be entry points. 
Animal Trackers generally does not handle mice control, so he suggested that I put several mouse traps in the attic and check them every couple of days. It's impossible to determine how many mice are up there, and we may not ever be able to completely get rid of them, but the goal would be to try to control the population.
Best of all is that Brandon alerted me to a potentially more serious but unrelated problem.  While in the attic, Brandon noticed that the air smelled damp.  He investigated further and discovered that I had some mold growing on the roofing plywood near the master bathroom.  The bathroom exhaust fan is venting into attic instead of outside causing a moisture problem.  Kudos to Brandon for taking the time to figure this out.
