"I’d like to thank Rock Solid Plumbing & Heating for responding to a heating emergency at Rocky Lake just before the new year. They came out the same day, were able to find the needed part within a day, and had everything fixed by the third day. They were professional, knowledgeable, and kind. I’m grateful that no pipes froze, and they sleuthed out what caused the issue and fixed that, too!"

"I called this company on Tuesday and Don came out promptly at the time agreed to look at my project that afternoon. He gave me a fair quote and said he would return on Thursday with the necessary tools and parts to fix my hot water boiler tank that was leaking and to replace a kitchen faucet that could not be turned off. I had been told by three other plumbers, that the kitchen sink faucet was going to be really hard and expensive to replace because the previous faucet had been installed incorrectly and a brass fitting smashed on. They all said the sink would need to be removed and the under sink plumbing cut out and replaced. Don showed up right on time Thursday and went right to work. In less than 15 minutes he had the job done. He said it did require a special tool to remove the faucet, which he had, but it was not really a problem. No sink removal or plumbing replacement needed. Then he tackled the replacement of the leaking boiler hot water tank. This portion of the job took over four hours and proved to be a beast. Unintimidated, Don tackled and completed the job efficiently. I did notice when I was finishing the clean-up and putting my things back in the room after he was done that there was still a minor drip. I contacted Don and he came back the next morning and discovered one of the O-rings in a dielectric union had broken during the install and needed to be replaced. He immediately fixed the problem and I now have both of these issues resolved. I will definitely call Don again for future handyman projects, especially plumbing repairs. He is prompt, reliable, professional and fair."
Schedule a plumbing inspection every one to two years to ensure your system is in good working order. Regular inspections can help you catch minor issues before they become costly problems, like major water damage repairs. You should also consider a plumbing inspection when buying or selling a home or if you notice signs of a plumbing issue. Staying proactive with maintenance can save you money and stress in the long run.
A plumbing inspection for a standard one-story to two-story home takes between two and three hours. For larger residences, historic homes, or rental complexes, a complete inspection requires a full-day commitment of eight hours. However, this does not account for any necessary repairs that your plumber might find, so it’s best to set aside additional time during the inspection in case an unexpected repair comes up.
When built with quality materials, your plumbing system endures for decades. CPVC, brass, iron, and steel provide reliable service for 50 to 70 years, while copper extends durability up to 100 years, and PEX maintains performance for 80 to 100 years. Maintaining this system with regular inspections and prompt repairs guarantees long-term efficiency.
You should repipe your home when your plumbing exceeds its expected lifespan or uses hazardous materials like lead, polybutylene, or galvanized steel. Persistent leaks, corrosion, and compromised water quality signal that your existing piping no longer meets safety standards. Repiping eliminates potential health risks and prevents extensive water damage.
