Comment: I have two bathrooms and in one bathroom the shower tap is very stiff, essentially unusable. After removing the cover and looking at the tap I noticed that the existing plumbing is galvanized and needs someone with more skill to troubleshoot and possibly replace the tap. If it requires replacement/or some other fix I would most likely want to have the same thing done to the second shower even though it works properly (only slightly stiff). Access to the shower taps in both bathrooms is possible through the walls on the opposite side of the shower, although these would end up being new openings.

Comment: Problem #1: The P-trap sections of pipe under three separate bathroom sinks have each sprung leaks. Each of the leaks occurred at the bottom of the "U" of the P-trap upon my attempt to clear hair/toothpaste clogs using a plastic Drain Weasel. I'm guessing that the P-trap pipes - which are original to our 1976 house - had grown extremely thin based on 40+ years of Drano treatments. It looks like I definitely need to have new replacement P-trap pipes installed under each of the three sinks. Problem #2: This one may be more difficult to address. In the master bathroom upstairs there is a leak somewhere in the waste line or lines coming off the two vanity sinks and the shower. The leak only seems to be "active" during certain times - perhaps due to some kind of clog or blockage upstream of the lines joining the soil stack pipe. When the leak is active, water finds its way through the ceiling more or less directly below that upstairs shower.
