This was our first time having this done because we didn't own the home the last time the septic was pumped. "I came home from work to find our 40-gallon water heater was not working (it was working that morning). The pilot was out and I could not get it re-lit (I do know how to light a pilot) After checking a number of companies on Angie's List, I contacted DB's Plumbing and Drain. Although it was almost 6pm, a very nice person answered the phone and I explained my dilemma. I was told they could send someone that night but would have to charge an after-hours rate. I was reasonably certain what was wrong would not be a simple fix like re-lighting a pilot so scheduled a visit for the following morning between 10 am and 12 noon. Michael D arrived shortly after 10 am. He was very courteous, polite and professional. Before entering my home, he donned a pair of shoe covers which was kept on as long as he was in the house. He diagnosed the problem as being a failed main burner system. As the water heater was 14-years-old, I weighed the cost of replacing just the main burner system on such an old unit against replacing the unit itself. I opted for the water heater replacement. Michael setup the old unit to drain while he went to retrieve the new one from their warehouse which took him about 45 minutes. Upon his return, he removed the old unit and cleaned up the area. He then cut back the existing copper lines to eliminate the numerous soldered couplings from the previous homeowner's repairs. He installed new copper pipes including a new quarter turn shut-off valve. A catch pan was placed and the water heater setup in it. Up reconnecting the gas line, he installed a sediment trap or drip leg (it did not have one previously) which catches sediment sometimes present in natural gas. After bringing the system online, Michael checked the gas line connections for leaks using a detection monitor. The installation was clean and neat and it is obvious Michael is conscientious about his work. Always interested in how things in my home work, Michael was very gracious in answering my questions regarding the installation. I am very happy with the install.and would like to thank Michael for his professionalism and the education."

"I highly recommend this Plumber. Tommy is pleasant, professional, honest, fair, reasonably priced and most of all, he provided quality work. He arrived promptly as scheduled and completed all the work in one day. Due to the recent unusual amount of rain; for the first time in 14 years, my crawl space took on over 14" of sub-surface water. I didn't even have a sump pump because I never needed one before. Tommy came out a few days before the major work was to begin and dug a temporary sump pump pit to get the water out. A few days later he came back and dug a 3-foot sump pump pit and installed it, removed and replaced my old vapor barrier, installed two new water heaters, a new dehumidifier, and a new pressure tank. It's been a week now and I've been checking my crawlspace regularly. Although it's continued to rain everything has remained dry. Best of all he warranted his work for 2 years. I would definitely use him for any of my plumbing needs in the future."
