"They did a great job and the yard looks fantastic! The only glitch was they were supposed to arrive at 12 noon, but showed up at 9 am. Apparently they had a cancellation. It would have been nice if they had called to notify me they were coming 3 hours early. Glad I was home when they arrived. Other than that I would have given them all A's."

"Over all it was an ok experience. They got there on time , did a good job with the carpets, and cleaned up after they were done. The carpet cleaners were very ,friendly, polite. However, they came in and right off the get go, tracked mud all over a brand new foyer runner. They cleaned it for us but the whole idea behind the appointment was to clean carpets and not to create more work. They didn't even offer a discount when we even paid extra for a deeper clean on our rugs. After they finished the job they packed everything up and never asked to walk around to see if we were happy with the work. They just said that they were done and they were off to the next job. I would not use them nor recommend them to friends and family."

"From the first contact to the last, Backyard Custom was professional. The whole experience was easy. Due to the recent snow storm, we had to delay the job for three days. I was involved in the construction industry my entire career and I can testify that this was one of the most efficient and well constructed projects I have seen. The project went extremely well especially considering the house had aged and previous termite damage required replacement of wall supports and new joists over the large picture windows. All damaged wood was removed and floor supports recovered for the second floor. Their carpentry capability was excellent and complemented excellent skill in handling the various window and door frame changes requested.

The workmen were very neat in their work even with the wall replacement and always courteous. The owners checked on the work frequently and followed up with operation instructions for the new windows at he end. The guarantees on the windows are through the manufacturer not just the installer.

This firm is relatively new, but I can highly recommend.

"It was messy but that is to be expected when working on sheet-rock and carpentry. The work itself turned out very well. The job was to enlarge two closets, repair wood and sheet-rock, install two large doors with mirrors, casing, and paint. Good carpentry work; we had a couple of problems but he immediately asked what we thought and did not try to cover or hide the imperfection. Mr Tolbert was willing to redo a part that was not perfect - his suggestion. That, perhaps, is the most important quality: if something is not right, he will tell you, discuss ways to improve, and redo if necessary. He brought a helper to paint two rooms and the helper too was very professional. I would definitely hire him again to do carpentry, painting and other handyman work. My only 4 star instead of 5 was because it took him a while to get back to me with an estimate and a possible start day - that could be because he is overwhelmed with work. We had expected 4 days of work: 1 per closet, and 1 per painted room. He finished in 3 days (once he got a helper it went faster)."
