Overall, we experienced a lack of attention to detail and a lack of responsiveness that allowed for lapses in quality and mistakes in construction. The workmanship is merely adequate. We do not recommend VKB."

"The entire door had to be removed and reinstalled in order to replace the 1x 6 wood support.  Mr. Straka was meticulous in his work and cleaned up as he worked, leaving no debris for me.  He arrived shortly after 9:00 am and was done by 6 pm.  Including trips to Home Depot to get wood support, trim pieces and siding.
As the work went well he final charge was less than Mr. Straka's estimate for the combined door and shed repair.  I had an earlier oral bid from another contractor for $1500 for just the sliding glass door repair so Straka Contracting was a great improvement for a quality job.

"Abbey built a fence with multiple height/style fencing and gates around our back yard. They also constructed latticework alongside our driveway bulkhead. There were no issues from the time of construction for the fence. The latticework needed additional support due to high winds in our location and Abbey came out within a week to reconstruct the latticework with a level of support and integrity such that the latticework survived the highest winds of the season. We highly recommend Abbey as a reliable, competent partner in fence construction."

Their price was fair (right in the middle of the quotes I received from other companies) and Marc and his crew were really easy to work with. Throughout the course of the project, Marc kept us posted on expectations leading up to our start date and then stayed in constant communication with us during the construction phase. When we needed to make minor tweaks or changes, Marc and the crew were always open to our ideas and continuously stressed that our satisfaction was their goal. "The team Fence & Deck sent to install a fence in my backyard—an area measuring about 1/6th of an acre—were quick, efficient, and friendly. The first team member showed up just before 7:30 to start dismantling the old fence. By 8 AM, the rest of the team was hard at work. It was a quieter process than I thought, to be honest—which was great, as my neighbors work from home. They were finished by 2 PM; had cleaned up, packed up the old fence and their equipment and were gone. There were issues with installing the new fence: trees had grown into the fence path, most of them belonging to the neighbors. The team presented me with possible solutions at each point, so I could get the fence I wanted—or as close as was possible given the obstacles. It was a very low-stress construction day, and we—and our neighbors—really like the results."

"I am thrilled with my black estate fence! From initial contact to final installation, Fence and Deck Connection has been incredibly helpful and quick to respond throughout the project. I started with a request for a quote in May 2022. My HOA wouldn't approve. Jake was great about working on modifications to the original proposal to comply with our HOA guidelines and provided me paperwork to include in my 2nd and 3rd appeals to the HOA. I was finally approved in March. Stephen was great on the installation: getting the permit, contacting Miss Utility and overseeing the 2 man installation crew. They were happy to accommodate our schedule around the recent sod we had laid. The installers were careful to do minimal damage to the new sod and the garden beds. When the crew left, it looked as though the fence was always part of our landscaping. I am so grateful for the communication and expertise the Fence and Deck Connection team brought to our project!
