"I mailed in the signed contract with a $154 deposit on October 2,  2012.  Thereafter, I made several calls to Joe to find out when the work would be scheduled, as there was one week when I would be out of town.  I kept getting voicemail and leaving messages that went unreturned.  A neighbor who had requested an estimate told me she had also been unable to reach them.  I went out of town approximately three weeks later, having had no response to my phone messages and in a panic thinking the company had gone out of business.  It was nearly the end of October when I received a call and an e-mail from Joe, stating that he had been in the hospital for 9 days.  I told him that I did want him to proceed with the work, although in the interim I had obtained another estimate.  More time passed, during which I left additional voicemail messages attempting to ascertain the schedule.  Those calls went unreturned.  On Monday, November 5, 2012, the crew arrived unannounced to perform the work.  I was on my way out to keep a scheduled appointment.  I returned later and watched the workers for awhile, then had to leave again.  When I returned home the second time, the work was completed and the employees had left.  They appeared to have done a good job.  However, in the process, they left globs of hardened stucco on a porch window and windowsill.  Worst of all, in the course of the work, they tore down my  6-foot tall lilac bush that had dozens of buds on it.  I found the branches thrown in the garden on the other side of the path.  I am now faced with digging out the remaining base and roots of the bush and purchasing and planting a new one.   I regret that I have had to downgrade a company that has done such excellent work on my house since 1988.  However, I feel that any business owner should be more responsive and responsible to his customers.  Even if the principal is ill, there should have been a foreman or someone else available to contact customers and inform them of the circumstances.  With regard to the lilac bush, there was plenty of space to work around and behind it. It should not have been torn down, with nothing even being said to me.

"We are looking to upgrade our old furnace to central air. In the process of obtaining estimates, asbestos was discovered in the old pipes. I contacted A & B Environmental Construction Inc. (“A&B”) for information on testing and removal. Liz helped me set up an appointment. Francisco Lomeli arrived on time, on the scheduled date, to conduct testing. Francisco was very thorough. After confirming that asbestos was, in fact, what was coating the old pipes, he explained in detail what would be done, and a date for removal was set. Once again, Francisco, this time with his team, showed up on time. The process took a total of three days (set-up, removal and clean-up). Every member of Francisco's team was very professional. Upon completion of the project, an inspector was called to conduct a final test. Everything tested clean. As a homeowner, asbestos removal sounds daunting. However, A&B made the process easy; they were fast and professional. I recommend A&B without reservation. Their level of experience and professionalism is extremely rare and very valuable in this day and age."
