"Prompt response. Gave me a variety of options for what I needed to do to have my siding repaired or replaced"

"From the start, it went great!
My sister and I were trying to prepare our mother's home  (built in the late 60's) for sale. Our biggest concerns were the popcorn ceilings (with asbestos), the old wallpaper and half-wall wood siding in a very large family room, and the dormers at the exterior roof- height that were in serious need of repair and paint.
About a week prior, we contacted apx. seven contractors through various sources. Of the seven, three responded and two showed up to give an estimate.
San Diego Abatement Services was the first to respond within an hour or so of my first request through Angie's list. An appointment was made to meet with Shawn at a time mutually convenient. In the meantime, we met with the other company which only did the removal of the asbestos popcorn ceilings but none of the repair or painting, which would have to have been done by an outside contractor. His bid was $3700. We were concerned because we were having trouble getting responses from contractors we had called and were getting anxious about this whole process and the amount of time it might take.
When Shawn from San Diego Abatement Services arrived, he alleviated all our stress!! Not only do they do the removal and repair and painting of the ceilings, (for our sq. footage, apx. $2700), but other things we needed to do as well. They were available within the week to do the job and by the following week we were done!
While some items seemed a bit high in price (lights), others were low and, in all, we think it all got done at a reasonable price. Being able to have so much taken care of by the same company--and done well--is a difficult commodity to put a price-tag on.
There were a few times when I questioned how something was being done or was not getting done and with a quick phone call, to Hope, their great and responsive person back at the office, we were put in touch with Shawn or one of the other supervisors who made sure we were happy with the results or we came to an agreement on how to resolve the issue.
The house just went on the market and the feedback from buyers and brokers is that the house looks great - and it does!
My sister and I absolutely recommend San Diego Abatement Services without reservation!

After purchasing a $299 Deal, I wrote a somewhat negative review when I felt I was being pressured to spend much more than I anticipated. Foolishly, I thought the $299 Deal with a "value of $1200" would cover the work.  After the negative review, I was contacted by Pavel, the owner.  I changed my mind and realized that the cost of the work was much more.  I found Pavel to be almost an "old world gentleman", and appreciated his patience.

The fellow who did the work did a wonderful job and matched the texture and color perfectly.  I was told it would cost an additional $900 to restucco the whole side of the house to obscure a color difference, which I wanted to avoid.  My advice is to make sure the stucco is very off color before asking for the additional work.

All in all, the work is perfect; it is hard to tell where the old stucco was and the "patch" put it.  BUT do expect it to cost more than you think, if this is your first estimate.

"Chris came out and gave me an estimate of $1500 to cover a large brick  fireplace and finish a wall on the other side of my kitchen.  The existing wall was 7' tall, but the ceilings are sloped and vaulted, so it was a little tricky to make it look "original".   It took his two workmen about 2 1/2 days to complete the work.  They were very conscientious about keeping the area as clean as possible, avoided sanding since my kitchen opens into the bedroom hallway and living room with little way to hang plastic or anything to keep the dust contained.  There was an additional cost due to my decision to extend the wall further than originally discussed and that cost was based on time and materials.  Jesse and Jason were friendly and professional and I was comfortable having them in my home.  They even let me know when they thought it was safe to let my cat out of the bedroom (when they wouldn't need to be going in and out, risking his 'escape'). "
