"This company is top notch. Chris from Richards Electrical went above and beyond for our small farm to get our power up and running after a failed meter socket. Highly recommended"

Customers say: Quality work
"They did a great job, and we have plans to redo a bathroom. I will totally hire those guys to do the electrical. They were just as helpful, friendly, and nice as you could ever want. It was wonderful. They're helpful, and they're willing to make sure everything is perfect. I just thought they were efficient, helpful, they were professional and they knew what they were doing.

"I hired Derek and his colleague to wire up our new hot tub. He was excellent at communicating and providing an estimate before work was started. The quality of work he provided exceeded my expectations. Everything was done neatly, to code, and did not leave a mess at my house. A sprinkler line was damaged during trenching, since we didn't know it was there, and he made the repairs with no questions asked. I would definitely hire him or recommend for electrical work. "Writer is a true professional and electrical guru. He arrived within the allotted time frame, got right to work and quickly identified the problem. He even welcomed me to watch him while he worked as he explained the intricacies of the electrical outlet (which was a GFCI multi-branched oulet, connected to other garage and bathroom outlets). It was clear he knew what he was doing. I would recommend him for any electrical problem or fresh installation, and plan to hire him in the future for other electrical projects I have around my house."

"I recommend TEC Electric due in large part to their attention to detail and the quality of their work. The only reason I'm not giving them consistent 5s is because of the 5-day delay in getting me a quote for the job. That said, they were quick to send someone to our home to assess the work that needed to be done. That same technician completed the work in a timely, and professional manner."

"Andrew came to our house between Ann Arbor and Plymouth at 8 PM on Tuesday when a storm caused an electrical outage. We had a generator but we're only getting partial power in the house. Andrew ran tests inside the house, determining that not enough power was coming into the house. He then started testing different areas of the generator until he found the part not working. Once he located the problem, he quickly fixed it. Because he didn't give up on me or my problem, he restored electricity, saving me hundreds from food spoilage in a refrigerator and freezer. I don't think most electricians would have stuck with the problem or been able or willing to fix the generator. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would."

Always start by confirming the pro’s license number, insurance coverage, and experience level. Visit the electrician’s website, scan recent customer reviews, and verify credentials with your local labor department. Request proof of liability insurance and at least two references that you can contact. These quick checks take only a few minutes but go a long way toward ensuring safe, code-compliant work and protecting your home in the event of an issue.
Grouping several electrical jobs into one appointment means you pay a single service-call fee and one set of travel expenses. Instead of asking a pro to return three separate times for outlets, switches, and fixtures, have everything tackled in one visit. The electrician stays productive, and you avoid extra trip charges, often shaving a sizable chunk off the final bill without compromising quality.
DIY electrical work can be dangerous and, in many areas, illegal without a license. One miswired connection risks shocks, fires, or expensive damage. Licensed electricians carry the right tools, follow local code, and know how to shut down power safely before they start. Hiring a pro may cost more upfront, but it protects your home, family, and insurance coverage in the long run.
