"I had two whole home surge protectors installed by Francisco. He did a great job. He was on time and did the work at a very reasonable price. If I have any other electrical work to have done I would definitely use him again. I highly recommend this firm."

"Proper Electric (Stephen) came out and got straight to work diagnosing my in-law’s electrical issues and fixed it within a timely manner. He has been called out for different jobs including upgrades, but sometimes critters chew up wires and Proper will be their first call for any electrical issues!"

"First of all, I am extremely glad that I decided to give Angieslist a try. I needed some electrical service done and it exceeded my expectations. The service performed was outstanding and the gentleman was very friendly and very knowledgeable...an overall good person and they didn’t mind if I watched them while they worked. I would highly recommend them to everyone whose looking for some experienced handymen and I will be using them again on future projects. Thanks again and a great job well done!"

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.
Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.
Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
