"I got my first call from Brad, the owner of Baker Electrical, literally less than two minutes after I had posted my request for an electrician on Angi's List. I do most jobs around my house by myself, including most electrical work, but this job was going to be beyond my level of experience. Brad came out to my home the next day to take a look at what was needed and work up an estimate. During that visit it was clear to me that Brad was exactly the kind of guy I was looking for. When he returned to do the job a few days later, he confirmed, and surpassed my expectations. I could not have been more pleased with his work, his attention to detail and his interactions with me. I will definitely call Baker Electrical the next time I need something done, and I will be very happy to refer him to anyone that might be in need of quality electrical work."

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.
Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.
Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
