Our old kitchen was narrow, dark, and closed off from the rest of the house. It is now bright, open, functional, and beautiful, with blue cabinetry, quartz countertops and backsplash, a large island, updated lighting, new appliances, and much better flow. One of the most impressive parts of the project was what they did with the original brick arches. Before the remodel, the arches were only visible from the sunroom side; the other side had been covered up. They preserved the arches and exposed them from both sides, turning them into a true architectural feature of the home. That detail alone made the whole space feel more open, intentional, and connected while still honoring the character of the house. "After interviewing several companies to have our kitchen remodelled, we selected VKB, and we are happy we did. VKB provided a lower estimate than other companies, and their reviews were good. As our designer, Sean was easy-going, accommodating and patient in explaining our options. He promptly created the 3d pdf files with the design of our kitchen, which were helpful to have throughout the project. Adam was in charge of our project, and his responsiveness and understanding were outstanding. At one point we were a bit unhappy with a corner cabinet, but reluctantly we felt we needed to "settle" because there was not sufficient space for a Super Susan. Adam made some research and promptly contacted us with a solution that was perfect for enhanced functionality. Last but not least, Ismar, our foreman on the job was professional, responsive, pleasant, and amazingly skilled. He and his team worked diligently on the electrical portion, cabinet installation, backsplash, appliance installation, and painting. "I needed to upgrade my galley style kitchen in an old row house in DC. Last reno was 20 years ago, a lot of wear and tear was showing and some issues behind the scenes needed to be fixed. Not able to make the kitchen bigger, was hoping by making it lighter and brighter with cabinets and paint would give it a more specious appearance. My initial meeting with Mr. Tony Heard gave me a lot of confidence that he understood what I was looking for as well as ensuring that any issues would be addressed and resolved. The first day of renovation, I met with the team, led by Mr. George Pitts who explained the process. They were all very personable and just all-around good people to work with. One of my neighbors mentioned, "I bet your kitchen will look amazing, those guys are the happiest contractors I have ever seen. Seems they love what they do". I had to agree, everyone was a joy to work with and it really put my mind at ease. The communication with Mr. George and others was always clear and timely, specially making it a point to show me specific issues that needed to be fixed, and the cost so there would be no financial surprises. I had no doubt that the outcome was going look nice, but I must admit that once I saw the finished kitchen I was extremely pleased. The look and the attention to detail, came out better than I expected. It was completed right before Thanksgiving and family and friends were amazed. And to top it all off, I got exactly what I wanted in a kitchen, and it all came within my budget. Win Win!! "We had an amazing experience with John Krause Construction. We originally called them because our basement kept getting water in it every time it rained. While they were at our house for the basement waterproofing estimate we had them take a look at our deck and kitchen just to get an idea of the pricing. Once we received the estimate we decided to move forward with all of the work because we were able to get a great deal for doing all of the projects at the same time. We are beyond satisfied with the results and will definitely call them again for any future projects."

"We chose "My Kitchen and Bath" after having studied the proposals from four other kitchen designers over several months. Josh at the Vienna show room guided us through all the pros and cons of the different options and always was patient in answering our questions and helped us stay on budget. This was our first remodel and we had a lot to learn. We knew this would be a major renovation but it happened as Josh had indicated and the time line was followed from ordering the cabinets to finishing the remodel. Once they started the whole project was completed in four weeks including hte refinish of the wood floor on that level of our town house. The technical staff (Ricardo and Juan with helpers) were professional, hard working and knowledgeable and clearly wanted to deliver a good product. They arrived on time and cleaned up every day.
