We knew we needed a service call but weren't sure what we would be looking at in terms of a repair since our LG washer had completely died. Mr. Charles was extremely prompt and courteous in his communications and it did not take long to get an appointment. When he arrived, his manner and work were very professional. He diagnosed that we needed to replace the control board. We discussed the cost and new vs. refurbished parts. He left me with a quote and knowing that the price was a factor, he even did further research on finding the best price on the parts. In the end, we have decided to abandon the washer repair and get a new one, but I would definitely call Mr. Charles again for other problems."

"Within an hour of purchasing the advertised special, Henry from B A R called us to set up an appointment for service. He seemed knowledgeable and showed up promptly to our appointed time. After working on the unit for about an hour he determined that the unit had died and there was no hope reviving it - it was 14 years old after all. WIthin a few days Henry was back and installed our new unit. Around the time he installed our unit, our second unit died. We had him replace it as well. The work was done in a timely manner and we have been completely satisfied. We would definitely hire B A R Appliances again for our HVAC needs."

"I have good things to say about them, but I pay monthly. I am not necessarily sure I am getting my money's worth. Its a maintenance thing. One problem I have with them is because I couldn't get gas heat. The last time I had to call, they kept telling me gas was an appliance. Furnace is an appliance. It really doesn't make sense to me. I couldn't get them here, and I had to wait to go to BGE Home, and they didn't come for three days. The unfortunate part was it was the last chilly damp weekend. I don't use them but once a year. I don't have to pay the yearly thing, and I didn't have to pay extra. It was part of my monthly thing. The quality is great. They did give me a new thermostat. It was hard to understand why my furnace had to wait, even though I couldn't get any power. Since it was gas, it was an appliance. Made no sense. If they could have come when I had an problem. I had to wait three days with no heat."

"Earl's prices were very competitive with the other quotes we received.  He and his son were very courteous, professional and friendly. Earl was very good about returning calls promptly and keeping in touch as far as scheduling (had to push appointment back a couple of times due to weather).
We had a porch that was covered in layers and layers of paint. The previous owners didn?t sand the wood down before painting on top of a previous layer that was already peeling so there were many bumps and grooves and there were also cracks.
We specifically said we wanted all of it sanded down smooth and repainted.
Earl suggested power washing our porch first to remove some of the lose paint. He said that was standard. The power washing only took the ?easy? bits off leaving most of the worst of it, the bumps and chips and grooves. He partially sanded the porch with what looked like a dremel, not a belt sander. I asked him to come get me before he painted. When he told me was ready to paint, I saw that there were some rough areas, sharp enough to snag a sweater or get a splinter. I pointed out the bumps too and he said he would take care of it. By the third time he told me it was impossible to sand it down smooth. I told him that is what I wanted all along and he said that the porch paint would fill in all the little cracks and bumps and that it would look nice. After the first coat of paint, it still didn?t look like what I expected. They put on two more coats, and yet it still didn?t look like a professional job.
I decided to wait a month before writing my review so that I wasn't writing out of anger or frustration. Earl and his son are really nice people and I don?t doubt that they are hard working. However, I am very disappointed that they did not sand the paint off of my porch in its entirety before painting, even after my repeated request.

"Andrew was the gentleman who was assigned to the week of contracting. He was professional, incredibly flexible, timely and just wonderful in general!

Andrew installed cabinet in the laundry room, stripped the framing around the garage doors to replace rotting wood and then painted, then he sanded down a painted deck to eliminate peeling paint and then stained the deck with a solid stain.
All the work done was completed and done beautifully.
