"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"Wow.  I don't write allot of reviews for service but i felt compelled to in this case. Some history:  About 6 months ago i had the heating element burn out on my new style front loading dryer.  I got it replaced by a different repair service i found on Angie's List (Nick, The Washer and Dryer Guy wasn't working in my area at that time). With the brand new heating element installed drying times for my loads remained unchanged ( up too 1.5 hours for many loads). No mention of my dryer venting was ever brought up by that other repair person.   <br /> Fast forward 6 months and I referred by a friend to Nick , The Washer and Dryer Guy, because i was looking to get the vents chased and cleaned out.(research on internet about long drying times).  He confirmed what i was seeing on internet about vent clean out and also about fire hazard concerns about clogged vents. Also, he informed me that clogged vents are one of the main contributions of why heating elements burn out to start with.(the other guy never mentioned it of course) Nick went to work and you wouldn't believe the amount of crap he pulled out of that dryer vent! I should have taken a picture of it.  My wash loads now dry in about 1/2 the time they were before the clean out. I can't recommend Nick high enough!. He was also very respectful of my home, covered his shoes before going on my floors, very careful pulling my appliance out etc... I will be dealing with Nick only for my washer and dryer issues from now on.  <br />"

"Very well. The repairman checked the washer thoroughly, and determined that we didnt need to replace the motor at this time. We really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. Will definitely call them the next time we need any household appliance repairs."

"Highly recommend Moore Appliance Service. They are one of a very few businesses that repair Maytags. They were able to come out to my house the day after I called (VERY grateful for that as a household of 8). Diagnosed and repaired my washing machine expertly. Very friendly and professional. Will use them again without hesitation."

"I have a Samsung Dryer that is little over a year old that stopped spinning. I have a warranty on the Dryer through SquareTrade. SquareTrade shipped the needed parts to repair the Dryer. However, I was contacted by SquareTrade and was told there were no contracted service techs in my area, and I would need to hire my own and they would reimburse be the cost of labor. I contacted a two others before contacting Basic Appliance Repair. They either refused to use the shipped parts and wanted to use their own or were so backed up it would take two weeks for the repair, and their cost was over $250. Basic Appliance Repair was contacted by my wife, and he showed up the same day. He used the shipped parts provided by SquareTrade, and he was fast, friendly, and professional. He will defiantly get our business again."

"I needed several repairs done as quickly as possible and contacted Mr. Fixit. The voicemail message indicated they were scheduled out through mid-August, but I sent a text message anyway to see if they had the capacity to squeeze in the work I needed done. The owner Dennis called me within the hour and came out within a day with his foreman Mike to give me an estimate on time and price. The appearance of our breezeway particularly concerned me (see Description of Work) but I was not sure what to do about it, and Dennis and Mike came up with a great plan to make it look so much better. Mike and his assistant Tommy came out to do the work - great team! They were prompt, courteous, hardworking and cleaned up after the jobs, and they completed the repairs within a few days for the agreed upon cost."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Aberdeen, NC

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
