"The sales rep was very helpful and personable. The installers were very efficient and did a very professional job. I was pleasantly surprised there was very little smell involved with the epoxy floor coating installation. I am thrilled with the results. Looks amazing and very easy to maintain, especially with my dog. Highly recommend this company to others."

"This project went extremely well from start to finish. Mike came out as arranged (on time, COVID precautions taken) and surveyed the garage floor, measured, provided color selection options and explained the process thoroughly. Prior to his arrival he emailed several links to documents which I read before his arrival and thereby could ask intelligent questions. Stronghold's price was in the middle of the three estimates; however, considering this type of work is what they specialize in (as opposed to a few jobs in addition to other types of contracting specialties), coupled with the many outstanding (to include recent) reviews informed my selection. After contract signing and down payment, the two-day project was scheduled for about 4 weeks later. In the interim, Mike sent several emails with added information and reminders, especially to ensure the garage was completely empty. On the scheduled first day, the two-man crew arrived and after unloading their equipment began their work immediately which was the grinding process. When completed, they applied the Base Coat of Epoxy followed by the Decorative Chips. The next morning the crew returned to vacuum the excess chips and then apply the Top Coat of Polyaspartic Polyurea which also provides a degree of anti-slip feature. The "curing period" was a minimum of 24 hours to walk on and 48-72 hours to drive on. I wish I had taken some "before" photos because the results were outstanding. The crew was courteous, professional and cleaned up after their work on both days. Contract signing, payment, etc., was accomplished electronically. Considering the pitfalls of a DIY project (chemicals, lack of commercial grade grinders, specialized "flexible" coatings, etc.,) this is the way to go and well worth the cost. I now actually enjoy going into my garage and have proudly shown it to my neighbors."

"Keith and his team did a great job. He responded immediately for my request for a rough-order-of-magnitude estimate, and the final quote ended up being very close to that initial ROM. We scheduled the service for about a month later, and Keith checked in with me a few times to make sure the space was clear for his crew. Over a two-day period the crew did grinding of the concrete and application of the base and top coats of epoxy. He gave me very specific and through care and use instructions and provided some cleaner that was safe to use on the floor. The work turned out extremely well - it looks great and seems as though it will be very durable for years to come. I appreciated Keith's punctuality, the quality of work and the professional nature in which he and his team do business"

"I had my garage floor epoxy coated and overall the service went well. They gave me a quote based on my description and stuck to it. The process took 3 days due to weather. The crew was stuck in VA on another job due to snow so they got to my house late. Once the surface was ground down and paint applied, they left for the day to allow it to cure. They came the following morning and it was not cured enough to continue, so they returned the following day. After they applied the clear coat and flakes, they were done. The paint smell was very, very strong for a few days and it permeated throughout the house. The job was excellent, though. So far it has withstood everything and still looks great."

"I did not know what to expect when I hired Westminster Painting and Papering (Mr. Robert Seeley President) but now I am glad I did.  It will be very difficult to find a more professional and dedicated businessman.  The tools he used was a brush, roIler and he applied two coats to the ceilings, walls and trim.  I want to add Mr. Seeley was extremely neat and cleaned up after each day of work.  On the last day, I really think he left the residence cleaner than he found it.  Mr. Seeley was very pleasant and personable and I enjoyed his company.  When you hear, "You get what you pay for", this is exactly what they meant.  <br>I recommend Westminster Painting and Papering in the highest regards.   <br>Wayne <br> <br>   "

"Trucrete applied floor treatment to my garage and floor and we could not be more happy with the results! Nick and Jason are artists! I can tell the Trucrete crew takes pride in their work. The preparation of the floors and application of the epoxy, color chips then the top coat of polyaspartic is a fascinating process. The floor is prepped by sanding off a thin layer of the concrete. Large commercial vacuums with filters are used with the sanding equipment. A very thin layer of dust was left. Hardly noticeable! You can't have 100% dustless with this process. But this is darn near considering what has to be done. Air handlers with HEPA filters and fans are used plus the workers use masks for personal safety. The sanding removes the stains, any oils already soaked in and lightly scores the concrete for the adhesive. If any concrete repair is needed, they will cover/seal cracks and fill in where concrete pieces are coming up. Then the adhesive is put down (epoxy/polyaspartic) and the color chips are spread by hand. The color chips are put down in a heavy layer. You get to chose the size and color(s). There's a lot to choose from! Then day 1 is done! About 4-5 hours for both basement and garage. Day 2 starts with cleaning up any loose chips. They are swept up (with a little top scrape to remove any chip edges) and also vacuumed. Any loose chips are recycled. Then the top layer of adhesive is put down to seal everything in. Day 2 was maybe 3 hours. After 12 hours or so to dry your floor is ready! They say around 3 hours to walk on although we just kept off until the next morning. That's the layman's "quick" explanation. One of the owners will come out, measure and talk through what you want, give guidance and explain the process in as much detail as you would like. Fred came out and was not pushy at all. A discount was offered to me for getting the basement and garage done at the same time. Of which I took advantage. Again, the installation crew was fantastic! Work was done as efficiently as possible. I found myself hanging around asking questions which didn't phase or interrupt Nick as he kept working. He was more than happy to answer all questions about the process. I didn't see one personal phone out. No texting or standing around. When working with the adhesives, no mess was left or tracks made on the driveway or in the basement. They wear lawn aerating shoes to keep things neat with no footprints in or around the floor being treated. The spiky shoes are removed and put on cardboard or in a clean bucket when leaving the work area. When all is done, the crew will vacuum/sweep and clean the area of any loose chips, debris or dust on the floor. There is slight initial odor when applying, however I did not smell anything in my home office right above the garage. Both garage and basement were just about odor free within 24 hours of completion. It's kind of like a "new carpet" smell. Not harsh or unpleasant. All in all, a very enjoyable process for me and the crew! I can tell they enjoy the work they do. It is not a complicated process, but it does take skill. I do relate it to an artist's skill. I took a lot of pictures (again **** fascination!) and posted some. Only allowed 10 though. The floors are slightly textured. Which I like as I store and move motorcycles around both floors. I've already dragged metal shelves and slightly heavy work bench in the basement with no chipping, scuffs or marks at all. If you want this process cheap, do it yourself. Trucrete's pricing I would say is reasonable for having skilled professionals with the right tools and training. For reference, my garage is about 460 sq ft. and the basement shop area (not the whole basement) is about 270 sq ft. Estimate for the garage only was about $4,000. $2,500 for the basement without discount. One recommendation: Call Trucrete for the quickest response. I got the impression there may not be employees just hanging around the office to respond to emails. The phone number goes to a cell and they will answer or call back quickly."

"This company was wonderful to work with right from the beginning (initially contacted through Angie's list on 8/15/14, estimate performed on 9/03/14, and work completed on 9/10/14).   There were a few hiccups in initial scheduling, but part of that was our fault (we weren't paying attention to the voicemail message providing us with a different phone number to call because they were having phone issues in the office).  Every single person we dealt with was extremely friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable.  They made us feel at ease about the work we were getting done.  <br /> Horizon's quality of work is excellent!  I realize that only time will tell, but so far we've had a couple of very heavy rains since the work was performed an no leaking has occurred.   The aluminum coating they put on the roof looks fantastic - and there are no paint splatters anywhere on the house from the coating.   The guys did a marvelous job of cleaning up after themselves too - we couldn't even tell they were here.  Most contractors I've dealt with, including other roofers, leave behind a giant mess to clean up - and worse, they leave nails behind for people to step on or drive over with their tires (why do contractors do that?)...   anyway, you don't have to worry about any of that with Horizon.  <br /> We are relieved to have a roofing company that is so experienced with flat roofs in Baltimore City.  Horizon Roofing, Inc. will be our permanent go-to company if/when we have any roofing issues in the future.   It is so wonderfully refreshing to receive such top notch, quality service that you can trust!  <br /> <br />"

"They did a great job. There was a little confrontation between my husband and a worker.  The guy didn't want to apologize and admit he was wrong. An A for the work, but the worker had a bad attitude.  He eventually apologized to my husband. When they came, they didn't have any equipment.  They thought we were going to get the paint, but they said they were going to get it.  We said why would we get the paint when you all are doing the service.  It was just a big mix up. I wouldn't use them again.  Not that they weren't good enough, but I'd probably go with someone else."

FAQs for concrete floor coating apply projects in Abingdon, MD

Epoxy flooring is a two-part coating made from synthetic resins and a hardener that bonds to concrete to create a continuous, durable surface. Once cured, the coating resists impacts, moisture, and most household chemicals, making it a practical choice for garages, basements, and workshops. It also creates a uniform, easy-to-clean finish that looks more polished than bare concrete without requiring ongoing waxes or sealers.

With proper care and maintenance, solvent-based and solid residential epoxy flooring can last 10 to 20 years, while water-based epoxy flooring lasts three to five years. Water-based epoxy is less durable, making it more susceptible to regular wear and tear. Commercial epoxy concrete flooring that experiences heavy foot traffic may only last two to three years.

Maintaining epoxy garage floors is relatively easy. You can sweep up dirt and debris with a broom, dustpan, or vacuum cleaner, then use a mild cleaning solution intended for epoxy floors to scrub away stains. Avoid using soap-based or chemical cleaners. Mopping an epoxy garage floor regularly with warm water can do the trick.
