"Chris and Masonry Inc were amazing. Chris was extremely knowledgeable which helped a lot, as I didn’t know a single thing about concrete work. His team was prompt, friendly, and cost efficient. I will definitely be using them for future concrete work."

"Our driveway had several large deep cracks: at the garage apron, where it met the street, one across the middle, and many smaller crack throughout. We were given an estimate to patch (cut back the asphalt at the large cracks and patch), OR to patch and resurface the entire driveway. We opted for the patch/resurface and it looks fantastic (it’s like a brand new driveway)! We also decided (last minute) to add on the sealcoat right after the paving, which Frank was happy to do. Frank was great and on-site during all of the work. All phone calls/texts were answered immediately. The estimate was accurate. One thing to note is that the weather will dictate the scheduling (which Frank told us at the estimate). We got weeks of rain after our estimate so it took almost 2 months to get scheduled, but it was certainly worth the wait. Would recommend and hire again."

"Michael and his team were professional, communicative, and most importantly got the job done! Contractors have a stereotype that they never get back to you or ghost you. Not the case with Michael who made sure to give me a call or txt anytime. He worked with the local supplier to order a custom Andersen window and in the meantime, stopped by multiple times to provide advice and estimates. On the day of the job, everything was completed in a timely manner and they made sure to clean things up after. They replaced a large window without any mess, installed a storm door, and patched up leak damage. They also got on a high ladder three stories high to caulk the exterior for our townhouse. Would highly recommend and definitely work with them again! Thanks Michael!"

"Ross was very professional and accommodating, willing to answer all questions and gave explanations of product and process. Even after he left and we had concerns about coverage he returned to appease our doubts and honor our request to resurface edges. End result was a great improvement and would recommend Ross."

"Chris and his crew were excellent. The extent of Chris' knowledge was quite impressive. He made me feel like I was finally in good hands by showing and thoroughly discussing everything he found. During his inspection he checked every possible issue that could be causing the problems. He explained the repair processes necessary and showed me as he was doing them. They were courteous and cleaned up, leaving my property cleaner than when they arrived. They were very polite and more than willing to do whatever was necessary to help me complete the project as I wanted. I can not thank Chris and his team enough and would absolutely recommend their services."

FAQs for concrete finishing, overlays & coloring application projects in Abington, PA

With proper care, a stained concrete floor easily lasts 20 years or more. Reapply sealer every two to four years to protect against moisture, scratches, and daily wear. Routine sweeping, occasional damp mopping, and prompt repairs keep the surface looking sharp and protect the slab underneath, preserving both function and resale value.

Stained concrete can crack if the slab is exposed to extreme moisture changes, heavy impacts, or settling. Small hairline cracks are mainly cosmetic, but deeper fractures can affect the finish. Inspect the floor regularly, address moisture issues quickly, and hire a pro for timely repairs. Staying on top of maintenance prevents minor flaws from developing into larger, more costly problems.

The longevity of a concrete stain depends on the product you choose. Acid-based options chemically bond with the slab and are essentially permanent. Water-based stains sit on the surface and can be lightened, darkened, or covered with a new color at a later time. Select the stain type that aligns with your long-term design plans and your willingness to reapply the stain in the future.

You can update the color by cleaning the slab, lightly etching it, and applying a new layer of stain. Re-staining bonds to the concrete and resists peeling far better than paint. For a dramatic shift—such as moving from a dark acid stain to a lighter tone—you may need to grind the surface first. A flooring pro can advise on the best approach for your specific floor.

Stained concrete combines longevity with a modern, custom look. The finish resists heavy foot traffic, moisture, and everyday wear, so upkeep is minimal—routine sweeping and an occasional damp mop are usually enough. Because the color is inside the concrete, it won’t peel or flake like paint. Homebuyers also appreciate its sleek aesthetic and low maintenance, which can add a slight boost to your property's resale value.
