"We recently employed the services and expertise of FPI Construction LLC and so happy we did! Pirfirio, Isidro and their crew could not have done a more professional job and it was a big one! From the 3-car driveway to the sidewalks and back patio every detail was executed with the best end result possible. We highly recommend their services and will hire them again for other concrete jobs we might have in the future."

"It went well, considering the rain-filled Fall weather (we delayed one week), and TMW was able to complete before the cold weather set in. The garden area South end of patio was torn up quite a bit, but that is how it goes as to wheel in the concrete. Concrete splattered on garage siding, so I needed to scrub-down siding to remove splash. (Some plastic sheeting tacked-up before the pour & trowel might have prevented this other work) ."

"We had a patio and walkway installed by Anthony and his crew and he and they were nothing short of professional and polite during the whole process. The quality of work absolutely matches the cost. Even though Anthony did not replace my driveway he did take the time to explain to me how road salt can adversely affect the concrete. He also explained how to maintain it and which preventative steps can be taken to preserve the work. It's concrete, we live in a cold climate so it's a gamble. If you are looking for any concrete work to be completed, your search should begin and end with Buttitta Contruction. You will not regret it."

"I recently had a concrete patio, steps, and a shed pad installed and couldn’t be happier with the result. From start to finish, the team was prompt and professional, showing up on time and ready to work. Their communication was excellent—we always knew what to expect and when. Once they got started, the crew worked quickly and efficiently, finishing the job in far less time than I expected without cutting corners on quality. The pricing was also very competitive compared to other quotes I received. Overall, I am very pleased with the results and would absolutely use them again for future project. My neighbor already asked for their number lol."

Customers say: Quality work

"This is a wonderful company. Bobby Smith, salesman and on-site engineer, is amazing. He made me feel like I was his most important customer and kept me informed every step of the way. When I called him, he promptly called me back. They finished the job on time as promised and did a beautiful job. However, I would caution you NOT to have the concrete sealed immediately but to wait at least a month until it is fully dry. There is a new product that supposedly can be used immediately after the concrete is poured. I elected to try the product and greatly regret having done so. I will have to have it re-sealed."

"They did a great job with the porch and sidewalk, looks and is nice and solid. The garage had a lot of weed overgrowth, and they cleared it all out and poured a new apron. Looks so much better."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Addison, IL

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
