"Totally impressed with every staff person from Garrety. I was impressed that only two guys, Kevin and Dalton, did the actual construction. They arrived each day at or before the time that they said that they would. This was after they had to drive more than an hour to get to my home. The two of them delivered and unloaded all of the heavy lumber, cement, hardware, and tools for the platform construction. Six days later they delivered and unloaded the wall and roof framing, windows, and roof. Every day they cleaned debris from the work and sunroom areas and put tools and supplies away. They were very knowledgeable and clearly explained what the work plans were. They patiently and clearly provided answers to all questions that I had. On the first day, I was impressed that the two of them alone, each with digging bars and post-hole diggers, no machine tools, manually dug thesix 30" deep x 18" diameter post holes in my clay and rock soil. The second day was equally impressive as they came early again with a jack hammer power tool to remove the existing cement stoop porch. Each day the two of them alone progressed quickly on construction. Framing the 300 square-foot platform base (perfectly level), placing, securing, and blocking each 2x10 joist, cutting, laying, and caulking the foam board, and laying in the R-30 insulation, cutting, and securing the Advantech flooring. Their progress and efficiency continued as they cut out the 16"-centers roof trusses, attached the ledger board with two lag bolts into each truss as required by code, cut back the house shingles and attached the sunroom roofing and wall framing. The flashing, caulking, window installation, wrapping, fascia and gutter installation, and other details completed their perfect construction. Their precision and attention to detail shows completely in the final result. The sunroom is better than I expected. I love it. Everyone that sees it is impressed."

"The kitchen was completed gutted and rebuilt within 3 weeks. Matt worked with us on every aspect of the remodel and addressed everything we had on our wish list. On all the projects Matt and his people were here every day until the work was completed to our satisfaction. When they left each day the work site was spotless. We have been happy to recommend MNB Renovations to our friends and family and plan on having Matt back when we are ready for our next project(s)."

"Exceptional workmanship by craftsman that worked on the project.  I say craftsman because this was a very difficult project to execute and make look right.  They made many suggestions that were incorporated into the project that I hadnt thought of, like the cathedral ceiling in the porch enclosure.  The sunroom and sunporch kits that came from the factory as custom orders and fit perfectly.  It was a long project taking nearly 2 months to complete because it had to be done in proper sequence but it never rushes or I never felt like they were imposing on our privacy more than expected.   <br /> Price wise, it was the most expensive contractor but the product was far superior to the others.  There was not much flexiablity on price because so many structural unknowns that canb occur when adding to an existing house but it was reasonable.  The quality of work was worth it.  No additonal charges were incured and the job was completed as contracted for the price contracted. <br /> The workers showed up on time daily and often worked late and a few weekends. <br /> The Four Seasons salesman Ralph was very helpful in seeing the potential of the house with the new additions.  He never discounted our ideas but kept real on what could be done and the cost.  <br /> Very honest as over $500 was removed from my bill when Four Seasons learned some fees overcharged by local zoning and inspection offices were returned to the Four Seasons.   They could have kept this I would not have ever known but they removed it from the bill.  <br /> It has totally transformed our house front and back.  The added value is far greater than the $75,000 we put into the project. <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Akron, PA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
