"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"I had a question about microwave repair. He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately new parts are no longer available for model in question. He gave me part # if I wanted to call around for a used part somewhere. Got lots of good info."

Roy's Appliances & Repair

"Roy and his helper Joe were the best! I needed new rollers and since the dryer is 18 years old (!), he put on a new belt as well, and cleaned all of the accumulated lint in areas where I couldn't clean. This was the first time the dryer needed to be repaired. When I called to schedule, I spoke directly with him. He was able to come out the same day. You may ask why I repaired an 18 year old dryer. Well, my experience with the quality of new appliances has been terrible, so if I can get an old one fixed, that's the way I go. I felt his price was reasonable. Parts were $75, labor $95 + tax."

"I got the parts I ordered, they were packaged very well and Ashley was an absolute gem to deal with. I had an issue with my parts I received and she jumped right on the matter and resolved it immediately. I am completely happy with this company and will definitely use them again for any parts needed on any of my appliances. Completely professional, courteous and thorough!"

"We were pleased with the dealings with Hetrick and Barber from start to finish. Receiving the bid after they had looked at the job took a couple of days, but other than than everything was done on a timely basis. The owner who had come out to look at the job, the office staff and the 2 men who actually came and did the work were all polite, professional and helpful."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Alamo, TX

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
