"Sidney and his crew were amazing. We had a lot to have done…remove the wall paneling and replace with drywall after putting in new insulation, remove an old non-working AC unit that was in the wall, remove the popcorn ceiling, replace the French doors with sliding glass doors and paint but the biggest dilema was our fireplace. It was a large corner fireplace that had “wings” which took up a large part of the room. We wanted to remove the wings and make it just a corner fireplace. They found a way to make it look nice and we are so pleased with the results. Sidney originally gave a 2-3 week timeframe to finish the room but his crew of three came every day for eight hours and had everything done in less than nine days! We are so happy with the results! I highly recommend this company, you will not be disappointed!"

"Installed 4 ceiling fans and 1 chandelier. Excellent service, done in a timely manner. Arrived punctually and began work promptly. Used drop cloths to catch debris and cleaned up nicely. Friendly, polite and respectful. Price was as quoted and very reasonable for the service provide. Very flexible and even installed 1 additional ceiling fan for an additional fee. Worked thru a couple of challenges with bad parts supplied by the manufacturer with no problems, to get the job done. Good quality work, professionally done. Highly recommended."

"I highly, highly recommend Stephen and his company, Capstone Remodeling for any home renovation need -- big or small, complicated or straight-forward. Stephen sincerely cares about you and your project, and is committed to getting it done right, and done on time. Stephen is a great communicator, via email, phone, text, and video chat--which is so key to a successful renovation project. He is considerate, patient, accessible, receptive, personable, detail-oriented, and caring. When we were still living out-of-state, we hired him from afar to do some projects before we moved into our house. He worked aggressively to meet our "move-in" deadline. He often would video call me to get my input on various stages of projects, and also just to update me on how things were progressing. He even video called me once just to give me a personal tour of our garden I had not yet seen, and all the flowers that were in bloom, which meant so much to me. I wholeheartedly trust Stephen; he quickly became like family. Since we've moved into our house, I've consulted him and hired him back for additional projects. Once I called him just to seek his counsel on needed modifications to our slide-in gas range cut-out, to accommodate a new range, and after our video chat where we talked it through, he had one of his guys out the next day to further scope it out. Then, Stephen stopped by not too long thereafter to take care of us--again, meeting a crucial deadline we were facing for the range installation. "Sirous and SM Construction did a tremendous job extensively repairing and remodeling my home in Sterling. They do very high quality work at a reasonable price and do it efficiently and promptly. Your hear about contractors half-finishing projects then leaving the customer hanging before wrapping things up and you get none of that with Sirous. Quite the opposite in fact. I wanted to have some minor repairs and remodeling done to my house to improve it for going on the market. Then my refrigerator had a major leak causing extensive damage. SM Construction ended up completely redoing my kitchen and bathroom, replacing the hardwood floor on the main level of the house, drywalling a large basement rec room and replacing it's floor and many other projects to prepare the home for sale. Sirous, the owner, was very helpful with design suggestions and in picking out materials. He has excellent taste and is easy to work with. Once the work was done of course I kicked myself for not doing it sooner and getting the chance to enjoy the house as he transformed it. The house sold above the asking price immediately. SM Construction is a great resource for your contracting needs."

Originally asked to replace 4 shingles, replace 9 for same price. Replaced fencing and all boards fit perfectly. Contractor was very responsive and timely. I would definitely use again."

"Mike and his crew renovated our basement bathroom and laundry room in 2015. They built a full bathroom including brand new plumbing and a new laundry room. Their work in the basement was beautiful, came in at budget, and stood the test of time, so we had them back for our kitchen and upstairs bathroom in early 2019 to finish all of the major renovations in our 1952 townhouse. Communication with Mike and Davis was great, we always knew what to expect which was crucial for such a large project. Their crew is respectful, taking off their shoes and sweeping up everyday, covering furniture, etc. They are proud of their work and it shows. We love our new kitchen and bathroom! "We are extremely happy with the work done by Thomas Custom Builders (TCB). Overall they did an amazing and outstanding job! They had a contractor on site, on time every day. Brian S. was professional, helpful, patient, hard working and skilled both in managing subcontractors and doing work himself. I trusted him with our home and would work with Brian/TCB again easily. I have already recommended their company to others. TCB renovated a few parts of our house, added electricity to a shed and added an entire master bedroom suite on an additional floor (adding approximately 550 sqft to our house). They finished earlier than expected. Our neighbors couldn't believe how fast the addition was completed and how well done. Any additional costs from the original budget estimate were due to our choice to add more work. I waited to write a review. I wanted to live in the addition for a little while to see how everything holds up. We have had only minor things arise and have been very pleased with the responsiveness of Brian and TCB to come back out and check on things. They came back to add a bracket to a new countertop that moved slightly, they shaved a door that was sticking as the weather changed, they fixed the damage done when carpets were installed by another company, they arranged for a rep from the hot water heater company to come out and fix a noise issue, all done at no additional cost to us. I have worked with contractors before but nothing on this level. It wasn't perfect, there were concerns that came up. I had to learn that this was major construction and with major construction comes mess. Brian and his team addressed our concerns and remedied any issue fairly. With so many negative stories I've heard from people who worked with other companies, I am so very thankful that we had such a good experience and ended up with such an amazing master suite and changes to our home. We love it and we receive many compliments. We chose to work with TCB because they came highly recommended by a neighbor who had similar work done and were very satisfied with their outcome."
