"About a year ago Ray, the owner, had explained to me the importance of air sealing. I had my house insulated several years ago, but saw little to no difference in the draftiness of the house and the frequency that the furnace kicked on. He explained that the previous insulation contractor had done no air sealing and essentially the insulation i did have was of little value without the air sealing. Apparently many insulation contractors neglect to properly do this step out of ignorance or greed, and my previous insulation guy falls into that category. There is a company that has a similar name, so be careful to not call the other one. Ray showed up right on time and installed a bottom door seal and realigned my front door, that, by the way, had been messed with by a handyman for over an hour who only made the problem worse. After Ray was finished, finally, a door that didn't leak! Once that was complete his crew of about 5 guys showed up. They hooked up the blower door test (to make it easier to identify lair leaks which also calculates the whole house air leakage). 2-3 guys moved the existing insulation away from the attiand sealed a number of large air leaks where conditioned (warm) air was entering the attic. Once those were sealed, another team started filling the attic with pumped in insulation. Meanwhile, a team went around sealing up other air leaks in the basement and baseboards around the house. It was a very organized and efficient process. They showed me the number on the blower door when the process started and then once it was complete and there was a huge decrease in the amount of air leakage. I had gotten another estimate for the same work and it was several hundred dollars more and there was no way they could've taken the amount of time to seal up the house as Ray's team did. The drafts are finally gone and the furnace does not go on and off constantly like it was. i'm also looking forward to less dust and bugs getting in the house through all those attic and basement gaps that are now sealed. We used to get ants in the house every spring coming in through the exterior baseboards. So far not a single one. Ray and his team are real professionals. Took time to explain the process and educate the customer, knew how to organize his team and complete the job correctly and thoroughly. Wish there were more like them. This company has been around for about 20 years and it shows. They understand the process and have taken the time to educate their crew. i plan on using Northcoast Energy Masters for siding and windows in the near future.

"The work took 2 full days and and half of a third day. We first discussed what work would be done. I would have been happy just having the wallpaper removed but Steve offered to paint the ceiling, walls and trim. I also had a room with six inch wallpaper trim that he offered to remove. This was wonderful! The team was punctual, they laid tarp down through the hallways where they worked. They bagged all the waste and wiped down all surfaces. They used Sherwin Williams paint and for the bathroom we asked for a mildew resistant additive which he gladly added. Both rooms got 2 coats of paint and I even noticed that near the doorway corners he put 3 coats. Before they painted they also patched any holes and evened the wall surface. We are very pleased with the results and plan on having this team paint other rooms in our home in the near future.
