"We were amazed and absolutely thrilled with the work done by Ace Radon. After I called, they set up a time to come out and see what was involved. The estimate was emailed later that same day. When we approved, they scheduled a time to do the mitigation. Both times men were prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and neat. They explained what they were doing and answered all our questions. The before radon tested 7.6, and afterwards tested .7 Needless to say, we'd highly recommend them!"

"Had an awesome experience with these guys. We had to do both radon mitigation and sump pump installation. I called 5-10 different places to get quotes, they were the most affordable by a decent margin. Kratos was really great- he was on time, very friendly, wasn't annoyed by our dogs constantly being at his side, etc. He finished the job very quickly and gave great education on how the system works and what we should be looking for to ensure it's functioning well. Additionally, he randomly fixed an electrical issue we were having with some outlets! Totally not his job, but I asked him if he knew a good electrician and by doing some basic trouble-shooting he was able to fix it and save us the cost of having an electrician come by! Highly recommend these guys, no reservations whatsoever"

"Joe provided a very detailed inspection, with recommendations and solutions to the issues present in the home we are buying.  This provides us with a short list of items to request of the seller and a list of additional items to do ourselves in the coming months."

"I called the number and gave rough estimate of the job.  A cost estimate was provided for the standard reduction task.  The technician arrived as scheduled and completed the work within a few hours.  We went for color matching which made the outside pipe look much better against the background of the house.  Radon reading went from greater than 9 to less that 2 within a week.  A separate monitor I bought has shown the levels to be below 2.4 since installation.  Overall, we are very satisfied with the radon reduction system. <br />"

"There were a few issues, but overall i am very pleased. They kept having to come back to fix things, some of the workers they sent were temps so they had to redo a couple things. They had to reseal the plastic bag under my house as well. They also warrantied their work to have to radon levels down under 2, and at first the radon level was above 2. They cam back and fixed the problem ,the radon level is around 1.9 now. They also replaced the low voltage fan with a high voltage to bring down the levels of the radon. I was not real happy with the fan, it ran through the garage into the house and i can hear it very clearly at night. <br /> <br /> They were attentive and listend to my concerns . They were great at coming back and fixing things they did not do right the first time. They have 3 very qualified employees who were great to work with. They are trustworthy and their price was fair. The job was somewhat complicated, so i thought the price was right. I would highly recommend them."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Alma, CO

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
