"The whole experience was painless and went great. Tony and Art did a professional job, and didn't even complain when my dog got in their way. Finished in one day as promised. Would definitely hire again."

"First of all, PDQ Construction came promptly to give us a no-obligation, free bid for the work we wanted done. Their estimator Bobby was professional and pleasant, and he asked questions and made suggestions that made our project better. He worked up and delivered a comprehensive, written bid in a short time, and he answered all the questions we had. We signed a contract and made a down payment with the understanding that we would be given a one-week notice before PDQ was to begin, so that we could do some demolition. We did get notice, and they began earlier than originally anticipated. They sub-contracted a plumber to move our drain and shower valve, and he did excellent, prompt work. PDQ then installed backer board and drywall in the area where the new shower was to go. Then, they installed the Onyx shower base and walls, including a recessed shelf and a seat. They also installed the new shower head and faucet. They cleaned up after themselves every day and when the job was completed. When I had concerns about the appearance of the joints of the walls before they were completely finished, Bobby came out immediately and addressed my concerns. PDQ also cut and installed ceramic tile along the front perimeter of the shower base to match our existing tile floor. They did an excellent job, even matching the grout. The finished shower stall is beautiful, and we are very happy with it. PDQ is prompt, reliable, responsive, competitively priced, and they do excellent work. I would not hesitate to use them again, and I enthusiastically recommend them for remodeling work. <br />"

"The entire project from start to finish was low stress and exciting to see develop. Because Jerry explained each step of the process, we knew what to expect and why things were being done. The crew arrived promptly each morning. My husband was impressed with how well they worked together. Jerry did tell us his crew have been with him over twenty years! They certainly knew what they were doing. The project took about a week to finish. All building materials, trash, and ladders, etc. were removed and they even swept the room and cleaned the glass! I was impressed. <br />This company is well-run, honest, and the finished sunroom is beautiful! I would strongly recommend them to anyone. <br />"

"Arrow Exteriors worked with me to replace my roof and siding after the severe weather we had had with major hail damage and assisted us with making a determination to 'upgrade' the existing product. Ryan was quite informative on the different types, qualities and color options he had and was able to answer all of my questions and concerns. In addition, Ryan worked with us to ensure we had energy efficient windows and doors as well. Easy to work with, very receptive and responsive, did have some timing issues with delivery of siding (about a week late) but Ryan made it right. Ryan made sure to visit each day his crew was here to check on things and ensure we were satisfied with everything as each step was taking place. His staff was polite, friendly and cleaned up after themselves. About a week or so after the work was completed, I had an issue with the sliding glass door not sliding as easy as I thought it would and one of the windows not closing/locking properly. Ryan came directly out to check into it, order the replacement parts needed to resolve the situation. He is a man of his word and I would recommend Arrow exteriors for these services."

"Matt was incredibly helpful to us in suggesting options for deck design, flooring materials, stiles, railings, and colors for all parts of the deck.  He explained the pros and cons of natural vs man-made deck flooring, cost comparisons and life expectancy for each, and maintenance and upkeep required for each.  Very detailed in preparation of his presentation, anticipating questions we might ask and had the answers or got them very quickly.  <br /> Matt also explained different building options we had (4x4 vs 6x6 support posts) and the various costs of each, etc.  We ultimately chose man-made deck flooring and stained redwood for the rails and posts.  Matt consulted with us at each step of the project to make sure it was going as we expected. He made several trips to the paint store and stained redwood rail sections beforehand, adjusting and tweaking the color mix so we could compare choices and get the exact color we wanted for the deck rails.  <br /> The end result of the finished deck is beautiful, and we are extremely satisfied with his work, with the time it took to finish the project, and the cost.  Matt also added in a couple of small repairs (adjusting door to close better, replacing door sill, and repairing outside outlet that didn't work) for no additional charge. <br /> We are extremely pleased with his work, his honesty and ethics, and his prices.  It is obvious that Matt not only does his homework for each individual client but has the knowledge and experience to back it up.  We have already scheduled him for our next project which will be a master bath remodel. <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Alma, KS

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
