"I dont have alot of experience dealing with contractors, or having this type of work done to my house. But James is amazing, and the quality of work that he does is incredible. I've shown multiple people the laminate contertops that he's put together and they've all sworn that they where real butcherblock. Laminate has come a really long way from how it used to be, some of the pieces are absolutely stunning. I made the mistake of denting the bottom of the kitchen countertop laminate with the dishwasher, which got me very upset. James stepped right in and fixed it with absolutely no problem or issue. This is the type of person that you want to work for you. He's trustworthy and he will absolutely work hard for you, and does not leave until he's done everything in his power to make sure the job is done correct. He even goes the extra length of installing your new sink and faucet, and redoing your pipework if he has to, now don't get me wrong, he isn't a plumber at all, but this is the level of customer service that this man goes through to make sure you leave with the best experience possible. He has a great personality and is very easy to talk to. Bottom line, if you look for a job and he accepts it, youd be crazy not to hire him. He is someone that I will personally keep in contact with for the next time I plan to have laminate countertops installed."

"It was challenging trying to find a business in the Gilmer County area to reattach our stainless steel sink (under mount) to our granite countertop, especially during Covid-19. Many businesses never called back or were closed, some had quoted prices that were exorbitant. JD Granite not only quoted a reasonable price, they were able to schedule an immediate appointment. A slight leak problem was also corrected all within the price quoted. They were professional, prompt and tidy. Thanks to Daniela who started the ball rolling and kept me apprised every step of the way. Way to go JD Granite!!"

"Fil and his team are outstanding. They are the consummate professionals. We had the old tile removed, wall board replaced, and new backsplash installed. The company removing and replacing the counter top had multiple problems that caused multiple scheduling changes over a 2 week period. Fil was great about working with us to minimize downtime. The job they did was perfect. They show up when they promise, finish when they promise, and charge a fair price. They are true gentleman and look after your home as if it was their own. I will always use Rocca for any future projects."

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Alpharetta, GA

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
