"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"Willy was on time and very thorough. My dishwasher wasn't drying properly and he took the time to resolve the problem. He was very patient and answered all my questions. We will definitely use Willy again for all our future repair needs. A+ all around and very satisfied. Thanks again Sean Farrow"

"My service call was set up promptly at a time that worked for everyone. I received a call regarding a cancellation window, so I was able to get the work done even sooner. I was given a window of time, and Brian (service technician) called 30 minutes out. He arrived within the window and diagnosed the problem. He needed to order new hoses for the repair, and we were able to schedule a follow up appt. while he was at the house. The second visit went as smoothly as the first. He was careful, clean (carries a towel for water drips), and gave me a few tips about some other minor issues I was having with the washer. They take all credit cards or a check, so paying for services was simple."

"Excellent service! The technician arrived on time, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Over the years, I've had several home appliance warranty companies. Without question, Complete Appliance Protection is the best one I've ever contracted with. Their monthly price is a little higher than most, but I do have their best protection plan with $0 deductible. You get what you pay for..."

"Let me start out first by saying that I have ALWAYS been a VERY LOYAL customer to Service Professor. I have (had) been a member of their "service plan" where they come out 4 times a year to check over:A/C, Furnace, Plumbing and Electrical. All for about $10/month. I always recognized that to be a value;however I was very much in tuned with the way in which they quote service. Let me give you an example. Plumbing comes out checks all the plumbing features in the house and then proceeds to inform you that most everything needs to be replaced. In one visit in particular I was well aware that I needed to replace the faucet in the main bathroom of the kitchen, my quote was roughly $350...to install a faucet. I'm not stupid I thanked him for the quote and put the faucet in myself in about an hour. Another example...the electrician comes out checks everything out and suddenly I need a completely updated electrical panel in the basement. Again, not stupid I thanked him for the quote and told him I would think about it. Before I continue, I want to be very clear. Service Professor hires very good people! They are likeable and you feel comfortable with them in your home. ALWAYS very respectable. The owners at SP are sharp guys as well. Again, despite all the hefty quotes I was willing to continue paying $10/month for the service contract. After writing so many positive reviews on their behalf, this last visit made me SICK TO MY STOMACH. Like I said above, my A/C unit was blowing warm air. After the Service Rep spent some time with the unit he informed my 19 year old daughter (I was away on business) that the A/C was OUT OF REFRIGERANT. He said that he would leave me with 3 quotes on repairing my A/C and filling it with refrigerant. Option #1 Add stop leak and fill refrigerant $822 Option#2 Same as #1 but also replace the "contactor" Option #3 Was to buy a NEW A/C unit! Like I said above, I'm not an idiot...did some youtube research and learned his quotes were way off. I contacted Jacobsen Heating they came out looked at the A/C and were POSITIVE that the unit needed a new START CAPACITOR...Tony put it in and he left within 15 mins and a check from me for $120! This is completely unexcuseable and there is absolutely no way they could ever possibly earn my business back. Very disappointed in Service Professor. Do your homework!"

"Tom was our repair person and he was very professional and polite. He went beyond what we expected. He told me exactly why it was happening and knew exactly what to do to make it never happen again and told us if it did happened again to call Apex and they would order a particular part that he told us we would need and we could do it ourselves. I would call Apex again on any of our appliances if we need anything again. Very very good service. <br />"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Alto, MI

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
