"I first met Jeff Moore of Capital Siding, Windows and Roofing in 2018.  It was time to reroof my 110+ year-old house (that has more hips and angles than a fashion show) and I wanted to do it right.  I took 5 bids (6 if you count the company that was a no-show) and ended up with a range of bids that varied by nearly $20,000.   Capital came in near the midpoint of the bids but it wasn't the price that sold me - it was the care they put into their bid and the feeling I got from Jeff and, later, his son Danny.  They included more detail than any of the other companies I considered and I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Jeff over the course of a couple of weeks where he answered all of my questions and explained all of my options.  Jeff struck me right from the start as an earnest, straight-up guy who was giving me his best offer.  No posturing, no pressure, just a good offer and a good feeling. Undertaking a major project on my house, my biggest asset, was stressful.  I was worried about everything.  Is this a fair price?  Is this the right company?  Will the crew stay on schedule?  Will they damage the property with their equipment?  Do I have any idea what I am doing?  Ultimately, you have to make a decision and for me, that's usually going with a gut feeling.  My gut said Capital so I signed the contract. Once work got underway, Azael, Jeff's primary crew chief, was on site every day.  He's a great guy, easy to talk to, always with a smile and a laugh.  The crew did their work, cleaned up every day, and kept the materials organized.  Couldn't ask for more.  Jeff and Danny came out several times during the project and we spoke by phone regularly.  Calls were usually returned the same day and always by the next day.  Changes (like my decision to add gutter covers) were handled clearly and easily and there were no financial surprises at all.  They did an excellent job. If I could do it again, would I choose Capital?  Wellllll...yes.  In fact, I did!   In August of 2023, while I was out of town with my family, our house got walloped by the big hail storm that rolled through Minneapolis.  By the time we got home a week later, work had already started on 4 houses on my block.   My first call was to Capital and they came out a day later.  My beautiful roof and old siding had taken major damage.  Danny and one of the roofing crew walked every inch of my roof and took over 100 pictures.  The damage was significant but the integrity of the roof was intact.  Because of the severity of the storm, Jeff was booked until very late in the season so we decided to push it until the spring of 2024.  That turned out to be a good decision as I spent a good portion of the winter arguing with my insurance company.  Every time they sent an adjuster or someone to take pictures or get a materials sample, one of Jeff's team was present.  I finally got things sorted out with insurance, spring arrived, and Oscar, Capital's other crew chief who is just as approachable and friendly and great as Azael, came out with his guys and got going.  They did another beautiful job on the roof and the siding is just fantastic.  They did tons of hand-bent aluminum work to mimic the architectural detail my insurance wouldn't cover.  I think it looks better than it did originally.  My wife and I are completely happy with the work and love with the way our house looks now. Total satisfaction with two excellent jobs six years apart is no fluke. Capital is as solid as they come and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. "We hired JP for a powder room remodel, hoping for high-quality work completed within a reasonable timeframe and a fair price. While we are aware most handymen charge hourly, we sought an estimate / range of hours; we felt this was a reasonable request for our budgeting purposes. Initially, JP confidently estimated the project to require between 40-60 hours. However, we quickly realized that we were nearing the upper end of that estimate, and our initial invoice, issued with significant work still pending, accounted for 37.5 hours (62% of the 60 hours), raising further concerns. When we raised these concerns with JP, he assured us that we were still on track to remain around the 60-hour mark. However, as the project progressed, we began noticing significant issues with the quality of the tilework. Upon discussing these concerns with JP, he acknowledged some of the imperfections but said there would be additional time and charges for correcting them, implying a trade-off between quality and efficiency. Despite clearly emphasizing our expectation for both quality work and reasonable adherence to the estimated timeframe, JP claimed we were focused on prioritizing hours and costs rather than addressing our quality concerns. This misalignment ultimately led to a disappointing outcome, prompting us to terminate the project prematurely. Despite our dissatisfaction, we paid JP $5,400 for 56.5 hours and cut our losses on an unfinished project. While Joe, the worker assigned to our project, maintained professionalism and a courteous attitude throughout, the overall experience fell short of our expectations. While we appreciate JP's attempt to communicate with us afterward, it unfortunately came too late to restore our confidence.This experience has taught us valuable lessons about ensuring alignment and fit with a contractor's approach, and we'll apply these insights to future projects."

"I called Joe to fix a leak that was coming in from my bathroom fan vents (after the first guy I called never showed up when he said he would fix it). He immediately identified the real problem that the first guy missed. and came back a couple days later to complete the repair. While he was there, he also identified a couple other minor issues - One he fixed that day (without charge), and the other he told me to contact the company that replaced our roof 5 years ago as they should fix it under warranty instead of him charging me. Joe took the time to explain each step of the repair, and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend Joe for any roofing work!"

"So happy with the work James did! He was the first to respond to my inquiry which I mistakenly called siding repair. James explained that what I was calling siding was actually soffit. He told me what needed to be done how much it would cost and when he was available. When he arrived and after some time of trying to repair he realized I needed a whole new panel. He took the piece and went and got a new one, which I'm glad he did cuz Lord knows I didn't have a clue where to get a new one. The new piece looks great. Will most definitely use them again. "

"We wanted to be sure let others know how pleased we are with Gunner Insulation and their staff for the work they did on updating our attic insulation in November. Last year we had ice dam problems and water damage. We wanted to address this prior to snows this year. We were in touch with 4 insulation companies for estimates at the end of September. Bottom line Gunner was the best: While Dain wasn't able to come to give us an estimate for a few weeks, his house review was thorough. He pointed out gutter problems we should address (nothing Gunner does - but we appreciate his expertise and followed-up); As well, Dain is very experienced in updating 1.5 story houses in Mpls and he had suggestions for our misc. hour variations; While we knew about Center Point rebate offers, Gunner was sure to mention this before we did (other vendor's did not do this); Gunner's schedule was busy but was lots more flexible that other vendors that were booked until January or later; Gunner's estimate was the most reasonable. The insulation update has been installed and has been successfully tested. The team that worked on our attic were professional and ever so kind and informative as misc. steps were worked on. As well, they were attentive to cover areas they worked on in addition to great clean-up after the work was completed. Throughout our update, Nicole has been great to work with as activities were scheduled and when we had questions. Go with Gunner Insulation!"
