"<p>About 6 men did the work. They were very organized. They covered the path from the door to the basement where the inside work was done. They were polite, professional. The foreman kept us abreast of progress. He did took seriously questions that my wife and I had. He did not talk down to my wife. They moved and covered up everything in the basement with plastic. I had moved a lot of stuff out ahead of time. They dug about a one foot wide trench along the inside perimeter of the basement, installed drain pipe and re-cemented with several vents. The pipe runs to the new sump pump. They did repairs and drainage on the outside perimeter as well. Everything was hooked up to pre-existing storm drains. The work took three days. </p> <p>My only mild complaint is that the utility sink in the basement pitches slightly forward, and so it does not drain as completely as it should. I did not ask them to fix it.</p> <p>We had this done in response to water in the basement. We did not have a sump pump prior to this and had 9 inches of water in the basement last February. We have not had much rain, and so I cannot verify that all is OK, but it seems to be at this point.</p> <br />"

"THIS is the company to hire for basement waterproofing! The salesperson came out and surveyed my basement. He identified two cracks in the wall, explained the way they would be fixed, and suggested I purchase a dehumidifier to eliminate any other dampness issues. After having another company out recommended by Home Advisor (Everdry), who wanted $16,000 to fix the HUGE issues I had with cracks everywhere on every wall, as well as DANGEROUS mold issues, Frank's salesman said the two cracks didn't even need to be fixed right now because they weren't bad at all."

"We had quite a bit of winter damage from a leaking roof and Jay repaired everything. There was nothing he could not do. During the five week job, he repaired or replaced drywall and insulation, roof tiles, removed damaged wallpaper, painted and even took care of mold! He was professional, trustworthy and very pleasant. in addition his prices were very reasonable. I trust him completely and would not hesitate to hire him again."

"We were suffering from severe flooding everytime a big rainstorm hit and needed help big time. After Bob came out and gave us his estimate and plan of attack, I point blank asked him if he was sure his plan would fix it. He assured me it would. My wife and I had to think hard about spending that much money, but something about Bob told me I was dealing with a straight shooter. We had him do the work and haven't had any regrets ( or floods) since. For us, this was money well spent. <br />"

"I'll start off with the positives and say that my basement is dry and my sewer line remains clear. That's about the extent of the positives. (Hence, not a complete failing grade) When I first had Frank's here for an estimate, I tried my best to be prepared with appropriate questions about the entire process of the work that I needed to have done. I inquired about the clean-out lines being flush to the ground and was assured they would be as they sit in the middle of my lawn . (They're a good 4-6 inches above) I also asked about the aftermath of the work. They understandably explained that they would not reseed the area. However, I did not expect to have rocks ranging from golf ball size to the size of my head along with broken pieces of the old ceramic pipe and other debris lying on the surface. When I called to complain about the situation they scheduled a visit from Frank himself a few days later. He reiterated the point they they are not responsible for the landscaping but did have the man accompanying him remove some of the debris. Knowing that the soil need time to settle, I figured I would wait until that happened and reseed the following spring. Unfortunately, there was so much clay that the seed never took and the natural rain erosion and settling has exposed more of the boulders and broken pipe (see photo) which my grandson wound up cutting his foot on. In my travels, I've seen other similar jobs and I have yet to see one left as despicable as this. I would have gladly paid a little more to have some fresh topsoil (maybe 4-6 inches) placed atop the trench to alleviate this problem but having never seen such an outcome, I didn't think it would be necessary to have that stipulated. They also had to remove a portion of my hedges in the process which they failed to return to their original place. Then there's the basement waterproofing. My basement did not have a sump pump but an open floor drain. As part of the project I had them install the sump pump for the perimeter drainage to run to. When I first got the estimate, I specifically asked if the discharge from the pump would go through the new line to the road and was told yes. Not until I noticed them cutting a hole in the side of my house (after the sewer line work was completed) did the men doing the work tell me that the pump could not be fed into the new line. I brought this up during the previously mentioned visit from Frank. He confirmed the requirements and said it would cost me another $1000 to get that done. When I told him about what I was told during the estimate and he basically said that I was wrong. In summary, if you consider using this company, get every last detail in writing or expect to incur additional expenses to correct the unwritten issues they will leave you with. The primary function of their work is good but the attention to detail is rather lacking. I would doubt that Frank would be happy either if his property were treated in a similar fashion."

"The previous owners of our home sealed a crack in the basement wall in a very DIY-fashion. While it wasn't pretty, it held up fairly well. However, the seal failed and began hemorrhaging water as a result of pre-Christmas rain storms and melting snow. <br /> I consulted Utech to request a quote. I was called by David Utech (owner/owner's son) the following day, and we agreed that he would stop by on 12/26/2013 for an estimate. A very friendly person, David arrived on time and pointed out a long line of calcium-formation from where water was pressing against the seal. He went on to explain Utech's process for repairing the crack and quoted me a price of $816 (after tax). The price was on par with other companies I researched on AL, so I went ahead we were scheduled for 1/3/2014 at 9AM. <br /> Sure enough, Brian and Jay from Utech arrived at my house on the scheduled date, a bit early. Both very nice gentlemen, they explained what they were going to do. Before setting to work, they laid down a walkway of plastic wrapping leading from my kitchen down to the basement, so as not to get our floors and carpet dirty. This was something I sincerely appreciated, and a nice touch that I know isn't done by all companies. <br /> They set to work right away, and about 30 minutes into the job, I headed downstairs to check on the process. This was good timing, as they had a portion of the floor jackhammered away (part of the process). Brian informed me that the previous homeowners failed to properly cap off a plumbing line that was used for a 1/2 bathroom. Additionally, there wasn't any drain tile connected to the sump pump from that specific area and a couple of other issues of concern. <br /> Although we never experienced any problems caused by Brian's discovery, I figured we may as well fix the issues since the ground was already opened up. I asked him to revise the estimate. He called David, who advised that the work could be done for an additional $300. Doing the work after the fact would've been about $650. I told Brian and Jay to go ahead with the additional work. <br /> They finished the seal and corrected the issues by 1PM. Once done, they cleaned the work area thoroughly, as well as our kitchen floor. All told, I was very happy with the work done. Although it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, I'm glad that things were addressed now versus later. <br /> <br /> <br />"
