"From start to finish it was perfect. They came when they said. The receptionist was very good on the phone and they kept the date and called ahead like they said. I asked for four jobs to be done but when I pointed out that there were other problems in the home they looked at all the jobs. They were equipped on their truck and had the parts they needed for the jobs that I had called for. They were very pleasant, honest and knew what was wrong and were able to fix the problems very quickly. <br /> In the house in the back ,months ago a different plumber told me the parts in the brand new toilet would have to be exchanged. I let time go by and did not have my recite. I was worried about what to do. When I called Barrett's they fixed the toilet by cleaning a dirty line and nothing needed to be replaced. I was very relieved. <br /> This was an excellent experience. They were punctual, helpful, smart, quick and very pleasant. They were willing to look at more jobs than I had called them for. The bill was reasonable. <br />"

"They did a full inspection of all the plumbing in the house and advised us that there may be a class action lawsuit for the type of plastic pipe that is installed. They recommended that all the piping be replaced, but said we should check on the lawsuit first since that would pay for the replacement. In the meantime they replaced the connection to the hot water heater (which had been improperly installed) and replaced a section of the plastic pipe to get rid of the pinhole leak. They were very courteous and were willing to discuss all the options."

"I have used them quite a few times. I would recommend them. I call them whenever I have a problem. Here is how I came to meet them; it was on a Friday afternoon, my wife had a new refrigerator put in and it was very simple to plug in an ice maker. The little faucet connection that comes out on the floor, it was leaking and it wouldn't shut off. I shut my water off and I called a few other plumbers in my area, nobody would come out. I called Perez, he was out here, and he is an excellent guy. He came here at 5.30 on a Friday evening, everybody else told me to wait until Monday. I have been using him for ten or eleven years, off and on. His prices are very fair. He is a fair and honest man. On time, he put a new sink in and put all new fixtures in and everything but the old line that was coming from the dishwasher sprung a little weak. I called him and told him, he came right back out that evening, even though it wasn't his line, he replaced it and charged me nothing. He is an excellent man. He is service oriented and I am not the only customer in the world, sometimes you have to get in line but he always somehow fits us in. He is a good, honest, fair man. Plumbers aren't cheap. I tell him, and ldquo;Mr. Perez, do what needs to be done. I don't want to hear, I need this, this and this.and rdquo; I don't even have to go into detail of what he is going to do because he is honest."

"Mr. Webb came out to do my estimate quickly after my initial request. I had some odd jobs around my house that I have been meaning to take care of. He charged me a flat, per day amount that I thought was very reasonable. I ordered the columns that needed to be replaced in front of my house and he told me that his crew would pick everything up from the store on the way over to do the work. <br /> It was the easiest process I have ever experienced with a service provider. He told me when they would be out, which was about 2 weeks from my initial contact ? very quick, in my opinion.  I also didn't even need to be home since everything was outside that needed to be repaired.  When I got home from work everything was complete and looked so good.  I was also provided all of the receipts for anything they had to go out and buy to finish the job, which I really appreciated.  The only not positive thing for me is that I wish I would have had an idea of how long each job would take.  When I got home early that day to check the progress, they were already finished.  There were a couple other minimal things I could have had them do (replace two lighting fixtures outside) if I would have known the time for completion on the other jobs would not take a full day, since I was paying a per-day rate.  However, as I?ve said, the rate was very reasonable, so I wasn?t too worried about it.  <br /> Overall, it was a very positive experience.  I already know that I will use them again for a later project and have recommended them to others.  <br /> <br /> <br />"

"They were delayed so they called to reschedule and then arrived when promised. <br /> They asked questions, inspected the plumbing inside and under the house and then proceeded to put their power snake down the drain from the undersink vent. <br /> First snake was too small to do the job so they brought in a bigger one and that cleared it out. <br /> Cleaned up the mess from the overflow, checked for leaks including running the disposer full of water and had things done in about an hour. <br /> Sent two men and a truck. Charged $119 including tax. <br /> Neat, polite, knowledgable and ready to work crew. <br /> I am well pleased. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Anniston, AL

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
