John Scott Roofing FREE ESTIMATES & financing available. Specializes reroof and repairs on residential and commercial roofs.
"My neighbor and I both needed new roofs, so we had three contractors provide us with quotes. John Scott spent a good deal of time with us, explaining in detail what his company would do, and his pricing was very attractive. His crew arrived to do my neighbor’s home, and a wind and rainstorm sprung up after they had begun the work. They did a great job keeping the old and new material under control, and made sure that the rain would not get through the partially applied roofing. The next day part of the crew arrived at our house and began working. Part of the crew was still working on the neighbor’s house, as well. Our roof was finished the following day, and the crew did a great job of cleaning up the roofing nails and other debris. Our pool and the pool cage had been protected during the work, and everything was in order after the roof was completed. John had explained how to contact an inspector who would complete a report for our insurance company. We are very pleased with the whole experience, and have already recommended John Scott to some of our friends who have also decided to have John replace their aging roof!"

We are so confident that our customers will be happy with their new or repaired roofs that we only take payment on completion of work for most jobs under $20,000! Customer satisfaction has always driven us, and through word-of-mouth, our customer base has grown over the years. Watertight Roofing is proud to be a GAF Master Elite roofer, which allows us to offer you three different types of roofing warranties. When the owners of Watertight Roofing entered the building-industry arena several decades ago, we knew that a reputation in this business means everything. We have always treated our customers’ homes as if they were our own, which has created a successful business and a very long list of satisfied homeowners.
"Buyer beware—based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Watertight Roofing for roof replacement. The communication with the company is poor, and attention to detail in their workmanship is lacking. I encountered numerous issues that were only resolved haphazardly. The owner stated to me that once the issues were resolved, I should call him to discuss the bill, which any reasonable person would interpret as an offer for a discount given the inconvenience. However, when the work was completed, I couldn’t reach him. The office informed me that the owner apologized for any misunderstanding and insisted that the original bill was fair. I paid the full amount immediately. Below, I’ve outlined my experience with supporting photos—ultimately, the decision is yours. Initially, the quote and communication with the staff over the phone were fine. However, my experience took a turn when the workers arrived for installation on 02/12/25. There was no introduction, no indication of who was in charge, and no communication with me at all. The crew started working without acknowledging my presence. I had some concerns, as I had recently installed fascia and soffit, and wanted to let the team know about the wood I had purchased for under the drip edge. Unfortunately, the crew didn’t speak English, and I struggled to find someone who could address my questions. After some back and forth, I finally spoke to someone who seemed annoyed by my concerns about the wood. He told me it wasn’t enough, despite me measuring it carefully. He also didn’t know whether the flat roof was being worked on, which struck me as odd. The crew worked long hours, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, but it seemed they were more focused on finishing quickly than ensuring quality. Later, the owner, Sean, explained that no supervisor was present that day, which would have ensured proper communication. The roof installation itself was rough—at times, the noise was so intense it felt like something might fall through the ceiling. I’ve had two roofs installed previously, but never have I heard such loud “booms” or experienced the amount of vibration I did with Watertight Roofing. This caused cracks in the ceiling texture in my back bedroom and even nails to push through the ceiling in another room. The owner promised to send a drywall person to fix the damage, but while the cracked ceiling was repaired, it will never quite be the same. Another issue involved the metal flashing at the junction of my roof and flat roof. The flashing was bent and damaged from the fascia replacement. I assumed it would be replaced as part of the new roof, but after trying to communicate with a worker who didn’t speak English and trying to get help from the office, the flashing was only fixed after some back and forth. The worker seemed upset by my call to the office, and the flashing was hammered flat and poorly repaired. It was eventually changed. During this process, my new fascia got scratched, and a piece of the drip edge was left sticking up, which I had to fix myself. To make matters worse, during the removal of the old drip edge, a five-foot section of my soffit, in the front of my house, was torn off and discarded in the dumpster. Where the soffit was torn off it created a noticeable gap between two fascia pieces on the edge. No one inspected the job when they were done, and I had to follow up with the office to get the soffit fixed. Even after that, the work was sloppy. The screws in the wood weren’t countersunk, so now I have to do that myself, along with filling in the holes and painting. The caulking job was also poorly done—rather than properly sealing the gap between the fascia pieces, they just filled it with caulk. The roofing crew left behind a lot of materials on the side of my driveway with no communication about whether they were mine or if someone would pick them up. After the installation, I had to clean up tar and finger marks from the drip edge around the house, cutting my finger in the process, and pick up small pieces of trash from my roof. I emailed the office outlining these issues, and the owner finally contacted me to set up a meeting. He was an hour late and had the office call to notify me. When he arrived, he admitted that communication had been poor and he did not have a supervisor on property during the installation. He promised to fix the issues. He told me not to pay the bill until everything was completed. He mentioned it would take about a week and a half to finish everything. Fast forward to today, 03/12/25—one month later—I paid the full bill. After sending pictures to the owner on 03/06/25 and following up on 03/11/25, I received an email from the office stating that the owner felt it was fair to maintain the original bill, and that they addressed the issues. The owner never contacted me directly and clearly had no intention of speaking to me. In the end, I had to deal with poor communication, a lack of supervision, incomplete repairs, and many frustrating tasks that I had to handle myself. I was patient and understanding, but my family and I have had a thoroughly unpleasant experience with Watertight Roofing. While I now have a roof, I don’t believe anyone should have to go through the same ordeal we did. Please consider this review before making a decision—hopefully, you can avoid the same frustration we faced."

Many roofing pros point to PVC as the top performer on flat roofs thanks to its tough seams and long-term waterproofing. A properly installed PVC membrane can last 30 years or more, resisting ponding water and harsh weather with ease. You will pay more up front than you would for EPDM, but the added durability often translates into fewer repairs and a lower cost per year of service.
Yes, a rubber roof is an environmentally friendly choice. Most rubber membranes contain recycled content and can reflect heat, which helps trim cooling bills in hot weather. Manufacturing has a lighter footprint than many traditional materials, and the long lifespan means fewer tear-offs headed to the landfill. If sustainability is a priority, ask your roofer about brands that carry third-party eco-certifications and confirm they meet local environmental standards.
