"Excellent. Arno was quick to respond, flexible in terms of working around our busy schedule and delivered on time. Everyone notices and compliments us on the doors like they were crafted along with the original built-ins. We can't wait to hire him again for our next project!"

"Gurzi and Dewolf were very, very easy to work with. At every step of the process, the two builders coordinated closely with my wife and I, keeping us informed of any issues or key decision points. Rather than just blindly doing the work, they pointed out potential issues before the problem surfaced, allowing us all to coordinate workarounds and solutions so that our schedule wasn't impacted.
My impressions of the builders began when the first arrived for a quote. They asked the right kind of questions, were organized, were thoroughly engaged, had a sense of humor and took ample measurements to provide an accurate quote. Incidentally, the estimate they provide for time and money was spot on. They hit their estimated schedule; any delays were caused by mutually agreed upon scope increases. My first impression was reinforced throughout the job.
Throughout the job I was impressed by their attention to detail and their work ethic. Both builders strived to do the best they could do and minimized the need for rework. During the rare instance when rework was necessary, they approached it constructively and worked with us to ensure that we were happy.
The bathroom looks great! We love it and feel like it is our own private spa.
I would definitely hire them again when we build our new house or for any other additions or changes at our existing home.

"

This is the third time Jerry has done repairs for my house.  He is always professional, prepared, and personable. When I called, since it wasn't a crisis, he came as soon as he had an opening.   He came and assessed my old hot water heater, determined it needed to be replaced (it was 15 years old).He explained the problems and options to me. He installed a new one, changing some of the old plumbing to meet current requirements, and as always, cleaned up.

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"Spectrum One is our choice over and over again for renovating our home, which was built in the 1960s. Dennis comes out and looks at the scope of the project and gets back to you in a timely manner with an incredibly detailed and professional proposal. He takes into account your vision for the home and offers suggestions for improving the project or explains how the team can make that vision come to life. The project managers who oversee the project from start to finish have been diligent, respectful and ensure that the work being done is of the highest standards. They are on-site every day with a whole team working to get the job done as beautifully and as quickly as possible. The attention to detail from the whole group is what I most appreciate. We have used them for whole-home flooring (removal, installation and baseboards), recessed lighting, countertops, backsplash and would trust them with any project. We recently completed a third project with Spectrum One that included widening doorways, redoing an outdated fireplace hearth, and remodeling two bathrooms. Everyone at Spectrum One is quick to respond, honest, creative, and fun to be around. We love them and highly recommend to anyone looking to do a renovation, repair, or build!"

"I would hire BMT Builders (George Smith, owner) in a minute for any and all projects. From the first time we met George, he was a straight-shooter. When we were talking about the project, he made sure we knew that he was committed to quality work. He and his assistant, Daniel, were always on time. On the rare occasion that they were late, they called early to let us know. In addition, although he had much larger jobs he was working on, George gave the same care to our small project as if it was a million dollar job. George did a thorough inspection and after we had shared what we wanted, we all went down to a tile store where George showed us our different options. Each day he worked he would explain in person or over the phone what he had done that day and what he was expecting to do the rest of the week. As usual, the unexpected happened. George discovered that our Master Bathroom (which backs up to this one) had some significant leaks. George went out of his way to inform us without pressuring us to make a second contract with him. But, since we were already tremendously impressed with his work, we signed a second contract. The bottom line was both bathrooms were remodeled in a professional and timely manner. Communication with George, Daniel and the rest of the team was top-notch ... we always knew what was going on. In addition to finding a skilled craftsman in George, we also made a friend."

"It went very well. Everyone was very informative. They kept me up to date with the process and whenever I had a question, they were really prompt with their answers whether by email or phone. They were on time when they say they will begin work and the guys that installed my solar panel and inverters were very clean. I mentioned that I'm very worried about leaks because my son is very sensitive to mold and they made sure to seal everything very well n show us the work they've done and ask if we see anything that needs to be addressed. I was very pleased with the whole process. And it was easy, they took care of everything."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Applegate, CA

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
