"We initially had them add attic insulation up to current new construction code as well as seal the perimeter. This year we added insulation in our crawl spaces and sealed the basement using spray foam. Our 35 year old home is now about as efficient and tight as a new house. We got the owner to evaluate our conditions, get a detailed written estimate before the work was done. The crew was thoughtful, detailed work and great cleanup. They took time to answer all my questions."

"This job was a messy and difficult one, involving removal of fiberglass batten and chicken wire from, and Installation of foam in, a crawl space no more than a few inches high in places. Seth, the salesman, responded promptly to my inquiry, took time with me during his visit, was honest about his uncertainty about whether the entire floor could be insulated but exhibited a can-do attitude, was reasonable about money, wrote a fair contract, and was open to some negotiation of its terms. Rodney, the lead of the work crew, is a very personable fellow, with the same can-do attitude, who figured out a solution to the problem of partial inaccessibility. He and his crew did a bang-up job, including cleanup of messy old batten from the rocky ground. This is a great company."

"I recently needed attic insulation installed; I reached out to several companies for quotes. Dallas came out right away and gave me a complete honest rundown on my issues. I had just purchased this home only to understand my situation was dire, he gave me a great price and even offered to change his schedule to get this project done quickly. He showed up within just a few days and did an incredible job, his team is very professional and even installed a new bath fan i needed. Thank You Windsor Insulation company, my house is noticeably warmer and I couldn't be happier. Great Job and I recommend Windsor Insulation 100%"

"They were professional and on time. They cared about our house and put down tarps and stuff to walk on. They did an excellent job on the installation and were helpful in explaining how the system worked. They went over all the components that they installed. From what I can tell, they did a neat job. They had to break a window to vent to the outside. They didn't clean up the broken glass on the outside of the house, but it was probably just an oversight."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Our entire experience with Remodel USA has been fantastic.

We put our name in for a free estimate at the Herndon Festival in June. We were contacted immediately to have someone come out, but I never felt like I was pushed or harassed. We had already had a couple of contractors come do estimates for our projects and Remodel USA came somewhere in the middle - neither way too high or unrealistically too low.
Once the initial salesman, Sean, came out to see what our ideas were he gave us a general estimate. After we agreed to take the next step, he then brought in Patrick and Dan, the sales director and the contractor/engineer, to do a formal estimate of what our total project would be. We redid two bathrooms and the kitchen. This included moving plumbing, walls, flooring, cabinetry, etc. It was a HUGE project.
Once the contract was signed and items picked I really liked that what we agreed on for the price was guaranteed. I knew if we ran into any other problems (and of course we did) the price wouldn't skyrocket up.
Gary and Oscar were the contractors who worked with Dan, the engineer, to bring our vision to reality. They were courteous and efficient. Most importantly, they were respectful of our time and space whenever possible. We have a dog who is very territorial and they made sure she got a chance to see and smell them - EVERY DAY. Also, I have a child with special needs who gets nervous with loud noises and change. They were very understanding and made sure to tell us when they were going to do something that might upset him.
The finished projects have blown everyone away! Everyone who comes to our house compliments our new kitchen and bathrooms.
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the work done! I would recommend them again in a heartbeat to anyone and everyone!

FAQs for batt, rolled or reflective insulation install or upgrade projects in Arendtsville, PA

Batt insulation excels in vertical installations because it remains firmly in place and delivers consistent thermal performance. Blown-in insulation performs exceptionally in spaces such as attics, efficiently filling gaps in irregular areas.

Employing both insulation types according to their strengths enhances your home’s overall energy efficiency and comfort by providing a tailored solution for every space.

Start by measuring the square footage of the space, then match that area with the insulation thickness you need to hit your target R-value. Add a buffer for waste and odd-shaped spots so every cavity is covered.

Once you have a rough count, run it past a local insulation pro—their on-site advice will fine-tune the numbers and help you avoid costly miscalculations.

Old insulation that is dry, intact, and mold-free does not require removal before adding new insulation; stacking new insulation over it maintains effective thermal performance and boosts energy efficiency.

If the insulation is damp, moldy, or deteriorated, removal is necessary to eliminate health risks and ensure maximum effectiveness of the new layer. A professional insulation contractor will assess your situation and recommend the most effective solution.

Installing insulation in an average-sized home using batts or boards requires five to 12 hours. Using spray foam or blown-in insulation requires two to five hours. These timeframes are determined by the area’s size, accessibility, and whether old insulation must be removed.

Complex projects and hard-to-reach spaces demand extra time. Hiring an experienced insulation professional ensures that the installation is completed efficiently and correctly.

Insulation is measured by R-value, which defines how effectively it resists heat flow. A higher R-value provides superior thermal resistance, ensuring your home remains warm in winter and cool in summer.

Choosing the correct R-value is essential for maximizing energy efficiency and comfort, and it directly impacts long-term utility savings. Professional guidance determines the optimal R-value for your specific climate.
