"Joel is wonderful to work with! We converted a semi-finished room in our basement into a home theater. Joel worked with us on how to best layout the room and installed the sound system/speakers, projector, screen, lighting, and sound panels. Joel helped us pick the best equipment for our space and within our budget. When it came to installing, he has an almost obsessive attention to detail in the best way. He saw that the screen was 1/16th of an inch off level. I never would have noticed, but he made the adjustments to make it perfect. All of his work was like that - the details are perfect. The work went fast and we could not be happier with the results. The picture is big, bright and so clear. The sound is so crisp that you can hear birds fly over your head in a movie. You feel like part of the crowd when watching a football game. It really is an amazing set up. "I received the system on time, set up was fairly easy. Activation support was superb and in the month since the alarm was activated it has worked flawlessly. I like the fact that I can check, arm and disarm the system remotely. I receive a text very quickly every time the alarm is armed or disarmed. There is a monthly fee of $39.99 and the basic cost of the kit was $99.00, a motion detector, panel, camera equipped motion detector, 4 door alarms, a panic button key fob, stickers and signs."

"This write-up is to give special Kudos to Percy, a Guardian technician. Percy is a superb technician. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional and perseveres to get the job done correctly. If you need a problem fixed with your Guardian alarm system, this is the tech to request in Northern Virginia. Guardian contacted us approximately four months after we had FIOS installed to tell us that our alarm system functions could not be detected at the home office. Four months we paid for zippo monitoring service. Although we have been a customer for many, many, years and have comprehensive coverage this issue fell outside our coverage becuase, unbeknownst to us, we needed to advise Guardian in advance of the FIOS installation. As on past occasions they sent out a technician who did not know how to resolve the issue, who had never heard of FIOS, was too lazy to even replace a low battery identified on the control panel, and still charged us for the visit!!! So we paid for four months of no service and the time and money to take off work and pay a tech to do "nothing." I advised the company to NEVER send that tech out to us again (this was his third visit to our home - 3 strikes and your out). Then, they sent us Percy. What a welcome and wonderful change. He is a great representative for the company and the type of employee that Guardian should aspire to hire. Excellent job Percy."

"<p>When we bought our house, the front door deadbolt did not work.  But since the latch bolt functioned properly and we had a security system, we lived with the problem just fine.  We are now selling our home, and decided to get the door handle re-brassed.  When the handyman finished the install, the thumb latch was upside down and the latch bolt was a little sticky.  As time went on, it became worse, and today just after noon it became impossible to open the unlocked door from outside the house.  I called Village Lock and Key after finding their positive ratings on Angie's List and Better Business Bureau, and viewing their excellent web site.  They were not sure they could send someone until Monday, but said they would try.  Sure enough, around 3 pm a van pulled up.  A pleasant and professional technician began working on the lock.  He corrected the flipped thumb latch, which fixed the problem with the latch bolt.  He also widened the strike plate holes so the deadbolt now works!  In addition, he cleaned and oiled the lock.  The entire job took about half an hour.  I could not be happier with this company.  I highly recommend them.</p> <br />"
