"On May 31, the system did not work.  Applied Mechanical came right away, and found an electrical problem.  After spending hours tracking the problem, it was thought that the failure was in the electrical service to the house, and recommended that we call Dominion Virginia Power. <br /> Dominion came at 6 p.m that night, and did thorough testing, and could not find a problem with electrical service to the house.  Applied Mechanical returned at 10 p.m. that night to find the problem and fix it.  They worked until midnight to solve the problem, and when they could not, they bypassed the part of the system where they thought the problem might be,  and provided us with air conditioning for the night. <br /> They returned the next morning to complete the repair.  The system has been working since.  There was an additional $284.00 charge. <br />"

"They do free installation. I don't have any dislikes. They were cheaper than the other service that I had, and they gave me an upgraded service. The other company, had the old technology, and this is all the new technology, and they have been very responsive about anything that I have called them about.  The price was the cheapest one that I found."

"The sales person that I met with, Michael Kelly, was fantastic and very professional! We did not have any intention of actually purchasing anything but he made great points to the benefits of having an automated system. My mother lives with us and having this system gives my wife and I a little peace of mind. The technician that installed the system was very nice and helpful!"

"WSC did a great job planning and installing a home theater system in our new home, including mounting the TV, installing all boxes in rack in separate closet, hooking up IR control system and installing and connecting 5.1 speaker system. Knowledgable and thorough...would not hesitate to use them again."

"I received the system on time, set up was fairly easy. Activation support was superb and in the month since the alarm was activated it has worked flawlessly. I like the fact that I can check, arm and disarm the system remotely. I receive a text very quickly every time the alarm is armed or disarmed. There is a monthly fee of $39.99 and the basic cost of the kit was $99.00, a motion detector, panel, camera equipped motion detector, 4 door alarms, a panic button key fob, stickers and signs."

"We have two systems -- one in our house and one in our shop. Pros: - Relatively easy to install (Would be a "piece of cake" to install if the manual was a little more helpful...) The test mode is very helpful. - Excellent, responsive customer service. - No monitoring contracts and there are two levels of monitoring to fit your budget and/or circumstances. For example, you can start with the more expensive interactive monitoring that provides access to the app and web site and then switch to the less expensive non-interactive monitoring once you are comfortable with the system, or you can go with the interactive monitoring during seasons when you are traveling more and go with the non-interactive monitoring when you are not traveling as much. Both options include 24x7 central monitoring and police dispatch. If you really need to cut expenses, you can choose to go with an outdoor siren to alert your neighbors and skip the central monitoring and dispatch altogether; it's riskier but it beats not having a system at all. - You can take the system with you if you move. - Reasonable price; this cost 1/3 the price of what a local, non-contract alarm company quoted for a less-complete system, which left us enough money to buy cameras too. My impression is that the Simplisafe components are every bit as good and full-featured as what the other company was offering. - Everything seems quite reliable now that we have the base station properly located. - Great peace of mind. - The system is easily extensible over time (which we have done). - App/notifications: It's really nice to be able to activate the alarm from most anywhere using the phone app if we happen to forget when leaving. We also like that we can check the app to verify the status and check events while we're traveling, and know that we will get notifications if something happens. You can choose to be notified of alarms and/or alerts (i.e., changes in system status such as someone disarming the system using the keypad). - I like that the sensors' communications do not depend on power or wifi. The local company that wanted 3x as much money used wifi, which makes it dependent on *both* power *and* cable (or other) wifi service, which in our area go down infrequently, but more often than cell service. With Simplisafe, there is battery backup and even if a construction crew takes out your cable service or fiber optic lines, you won't lose your security system. - If you combine Simplisafe's cell-based sensors with wifi-based cameras (with motion sensor notification), you'll have "defense in depth" (to borrow a cybersecurity phrase) that makes the system harder to defeat since some part of the system will still be active even if your cell service or wifi or power goes down. - I like that you can have (and change) multiple PINs that you can assign to each maid, pet sitter, friend, or family member who is checking on your house while you're gone, which adds accountability and verifiability; you know they've been there, and they'll know you know they've been there. Trust but verify... - The base station uses T-Mobile by default, but you can ask for a Verizon base station if Verizon has a stronger signal in your area. Cons: - The placement of the base station for optimum communication can be a bit tricky. - The user's manual is too simplistic. It's clear that they want to make it easy and not scary, but there should be a link to more complete information so customers can choose to be more fully informed and get answers without having to call. For example, there are more considerations for proper placement of the base station than are listed in the manual and you only find out about them if you call when you have problems. Another example, if I recall correctly, is that the manual gave the arc (degrees) within which the motion sensor would work, but did not state the distance or the fact that there is a high, medium, low sensitivity switch under the battery. Also, the manual says that the door entry sensors can go "anywhere" so long as the magnet is properly aligned with it and is within a certain distance of the sensor, but they don't warn you to keep in mind that the cover only slides off one way to change the battery and I unfortunately, placed one in a corner before seeing the small, light blue, hard-to-read symbol indicating the battery cover direction because I was focused on the lines that the magnet had to stay within since that was the only thing the manual called attention to. It also turns out that the entry sensors work best when placed along the vertical edge of a swinging door so that the entire magnet moves away from the sensor at the same rate, rather than in an arc which occurs if you place it at the top edge of a swinging door. That was not discussed anywhere either. - Some customer service agents have been less informed than others, but most have been very good. - We had to purchase a 2nd base station for our shop, which means that we have to pay 2x the monitoring fee each month. The local company that we got a bid from would have covered both the house and the shop with one monitoring fee."

"I would say in general, the services that they used to provide were no longer provided, so the value that you get is diminishing markedly. However, I would still continue to use them for another year."

"When I bought this house, I shopped around and talked to almost every company I could find. Some of them came to my house and some consulted over the phone. I extensively used Angies list to read all reviews and comments.  <br /> GuardMe is the first company I talked to. Kevin is the first sales man I talked to, who went through all the options with me. I told him that I wouldn't close the deal until I talked to everyone in the market. He had no problems with that. So I went ahead and talked to all other companies. While I was doing this evaluation, I kept on my communications with Guardme representatives comparing their products and refining my requirements based on the knowledge I was gaining talking to others. I have talked to Michael, Dick and Craig himself. All of them felt very professional with all my calls. They never pushed me or influenced me to make any decisions which was outside my interests. They held on to their grounds  all the time. This gave me a lot of confidence that what they are selling is serious stuff. <br /> It makes a big difference in my evaluation. I'm in the technology world who is very handy with tech gadgets and I do these kind of evaluation for my living with various technology companies. So I did the same with this case as well (Just wanted to iterate this since this should weigh in on my review) <br /> After I was convinced that GaurdMe is the right solution for all my needs, I finalized my contract with Craig, he sent through all documents through Docusign and it took us like 1 minute to finalize all paper work. Just a breeze. I don't have to sign 100 pages. All these counts...time is money...When we finished this it was a Saturday morning around 11 AM. I asked Craig (I was indeed greedy :) ) if I can get this installed today. He said he will do everything possible under his capacity to get it done, if not first thing Monday/Tuesday. He called me in 10 mins and said he had pulled the installation to be done today and he is sending in the installers...pretty good....right...100% <br /> Now is the installation. The installer was just a knowledgeable person. I insisted that I should not see any wires outside. He went through many options within the house and finally we found the right spot to install the panel (of course no visible wires). They installed all the equipments - in the rights spots ; in the right way. They made sure that its installed perfectly. They were both very professional and took their time to do things the right way. I found out that some of my windows needed more equipments than what we agreed on the contract. The installer contacted Craig and solved it right there...He called me as well and made sure I got the right thing. The installer then finished all his part and explained every single detail about the system. He and me worked on the computer to create all userIds and accounts and the mobile applications usage. He made sure that I understood every single detail about the system usage. <br /> Once he left, GuardMe called me to make sure the Installation was done according to my satisfaction.  <br /> I have been playing with this system to make sure all things are working fine ever since and I find it to be just great. I'm totally convinced that I made the right decision.  <br /> Thanks to everyone Sales, support and installers from Guardme in setting me up with our home security system. <br />"
