"The work I asked JP General Construction to undertake was the demolition of a 40 year old concrete in-ground swimming pool that was far past its prime. I couldn't be more pleased with the job done by JP General Construction. When I first contacted the owner, Jaime Peredo, he made time to do a site visit the same day in spite of other projects in progress. I found him and his staff to be flexible, straight forward in describing the details of the work to be done, the techniques and equipment involved and the probable duration of the project. "Needed to have a bump out window replaced and reached out to King General Contracting. Mr. Canales immediately responded to my inquiry. Mr. Canales came out to our home the following day to assess the condition of the bump out window and provide an estimate. Mr. Canales and team were able to replace the bump out window and match the old paint scheme. Mr. Canales emphasizes customer service and he listened to my thoughts and concerns throughout the whole process. Mr. Canales completed the work on time and did exactly as requested at the quoted price. He communicated with me very well. I couldn't ask for more. I would do business with them again. "The work was done well overall, but I had to remove some large concrete pieces from the sloping areas around the edges. The original diggers had buried these close to the surface, which would have made landscaping impossible. This was not Jerry's fault, as they did not follow his instructions to break these up, and add them to the substrate rock under the patio base. There were delays due to the very bad weather, out of his control, but the re-scheduling needs could have been communicated better, in my opinion."

"I called Waterproofing Inc on a Wednesday and we scheduled an appointment for an estimate for Saturday. Steve promptly came at the scheduled time and we reviewed the situation in my basement.   I told him of my goal to have a finished DRY basement.  He looked at my existing pump and drain. He suggested that I could apply (or have applied) plastic sheeting to the walls to help with the seepage problem. However, he doesn't do that type of work. He also asked me what I thought the problem was with the moisture problem. He suggested that he could extend the current waterproofing system along the entire back wall and gave me a written estimate for that work. The reason that I rated him a B and said I would hire him was because I didn't feel confident in his diagnosis of the root cause of the water problem and his proposed solution to address the issue so that my basement could be dry. I am looking for a one stop shop with a solution driven individual who comes in as a problem solver. I just didn't get that from Steve. He didn't even look (or ask to look) outside the house to see how the water comes off the back of the house where the problem is.  I'm guess if I just wanted someone to drill up the concrete and put a drain in, he would be fine because his price was reasonable for that work. But I'm looking for a holistic solution provider who will address all issues with the most effective and efficient techniques to keep my basement dry.  I just wouldn't hire him for that role."

"We have been extremely happy with the MP Home Repair company and their work. We found them through Angie’s List and hired them early in May 2018 to do a complete bathroom renovation, ripping out and replacing tile walls, tile floors, the old tub, etc. in a 1950-60's era home. They had only about two weeks to complete the project because we were on a tight time schedule. They came through with flying colors. They showed up on time every morning, and the project came in right at the original estimated cost. During the course of the renovation, we asked them to do an additional job for an extra charge, which they happily agreed to do. A few weeks ago we hired them again for another job, this time for a partial renovation of a side porch. They replaced the porch posts, the roof, porch ceiling, and some of the flooring planks where needed. We've been very satisfied with their work for both projects. Marco Pena and his crew have been attentive, accommodating, and easy to communicate with. We can't say enough good things about the company and will hire them again for future projects."
